glad to see some others agree - some very good footballers playing for divisions below one - believe the athboy v st cuthberts game last night was excellent as was the div. 2 game in longwood trim v jenkinstown gales was at the ballivor v st pats game last weekend and it too was a cracking match. Looking forward to the finals. catnap1 (Meath) - Posts: 21 - 09/11/2013 17:27:19 1511278 Link 0 |

lads you's need to relax and just understand meath teams these days navan apart are made up of south meath teams and not these poor north meath teams, may aswell leave them off in those divisions so if it means so much to you's despite the standard being low. south meath > north meath meathforsam11 (Meath) - Posts: 92 - 09/11/2013 21:03:37 1511368 Link 0 |
Oh great somebody looking for a prediction I'm your man for that I have been sitting waiting patiently for a while now glenny (Meath) - Posts: 1119 - 09/11/2013 21:24:50 1511379 Link 0 |
Look at the size of clubs from South Meath. They've huge populations, of course they're going to be more successful at underage! Changes completely though when it comes to adult football! And also, I think this is one of the big problems with Meath today. There's a 'divide' and comparison between North Meath and South Mesth clubs. We are one county, all supporting the same team! Lads to be honest I everyone can see ashbourne and dunboyne are worthy of being in the final but they might not be the best teams. Its fairly clear that Ratoath are tired of winning minor championships and they put the lot this year into attempting to win the U21s Johnjoe90 (Meath) - Posts: 104 - 09/11/2013 21:33:28 1511385 Link 0 |

The best 15 from division 2-5 wouldn't challenge division one teams ? Heres 15 players that would destroy any division one team ! Cian Farnan (St.Culberts), Jack Reid (Killary Emmets), Charlie Bird (Boardsmill), Niall O'Reilly Wolfe tones), Liam Ferguson (Kells), Kevin Traynor (Killary Emmets), Brian Harnen ( Moynalvey), Christy Meade (Rathkenny ) , Rob Bourke (Trim), Harry Purcell (Trim), Freddie Newman (Kells), Jack Gore (Rathkenny), Daire Rowe ( Killary Emmets), Fergal Cleary (Dunsany), Robbie McDonnell (Walterstown) royalTicker (Meath) - Posts: 40 - 11/11/2013 12:12:51 1511886 Link 0 |
There are plenty of other good players part from that also. Division 2 final has loads of brilliant players, even division 3 sides Wolfe Tones and Rathkenny have many brilliant players, and I reckon either of these teams could easily challenge any division 2 team! You're leaving out top players like Swaine and Mc Donagh from Clann na nGael! Mc Donagh was on the minor panel and Swaine is in the Clann na nGael intermediate team Meathmaster (Meath) - Posts: 251 - 11/11/2013 12:23:39 1511901 Link 0 |
Yes i left them out as i stated i was putting out the best 15, its my opinion and of course you are entitled to post your best 15 also royalTicker (Meath) - Posts: 40 - 11/11/2013 13:05:39 1511940 Link 0 |
I feel that people resorting to calling Dunboyne "The Battering Ram" is an act of jelousy. I have seen this Dunboyne team play and can assure you that aswell as their impressive physical stature they also have excellent footballing talent. Just because they are heavy hitters does not mean that they cant play football. They scored a total of 2-16 against a strong Curragha team which in my mind is very impressive. Couldn't agree more, Although. Dunboyne are a very physical team, they can also play ball. I favourite Dunboyne going into this final. Don/Ash haven't played a full Dunboyne team this year. Meath_Gaa (Meath) - Posts: 3 - 11/11/2013 17:39:12 1512201 Link 0 |
We all know the stars of division 1 but What players (on both teams) should we look out for in both division 2 and 3? 12345678 (Meath) - Posts: 28 - 11/11/2013 19:25:06 1512270 Link 0 |
Will Trim have anything to stop Rowe running at their defence? Stop that and they have a chance. Handontheback (Meath) - Posts: 44 - 12/11/2013 11:42:55 1512467 Link 0 |
How anyone can refer to dunboyne as a "battering ram" is beyond me. Intensity and organisation does not constitute the label of a "battering ram". Ridiculous. Player for player Dunboyne have the edge in most positions both physically and in my estimations technically. I struggle to see, on current form any of the Don/Ash players getting into the Dunboyne team, Deegan and Byrne perhaps have a strong argument. If Dunboyne keep Deegan relatively quiet I struggle to see where Don/Ash scores will come from and if Dunboyne keep their discipline I envisage a rather comprehensive Dunboyne win.
