Down to the Semi Finals
Div 1
Don/Ash v OMahonys this will be a close game I think OMahonys are coming right at the right time and may get tru
Dunboyne v Dunshaughlin. Dunshaughlin have done well winning Division 2 and now into the Championship Semi Final they have some fine players but may not have the overall strength of their neighbours Dunboyne by a goal or two.
Division 2
Jenkinstown v Trim; Did not think Trim would get this far but have done so on merit Jenkinstown maybe stronger and edge home
St Michaels v Killary Emmets; Good ole North Meath battle Michaels won the 1st round game and have some decent players, Killary too are none too shabby and I think they may reverse the Round 1 result for a narrow win.
Division 3
Gaeil Colmcille v Wolfe Tones; Local derby again nothing like it I think the Kells side might be best in a close game
Rathkenny v North Meath; Rathkenny had a number of minors on their Senior team this will stand to them cant see North Meath troubling them too much
Division 4;
Ballivor v St Patricks; Nothing local about this East meets West West maybe be Best
St Cuthberts v Clan na gael; Back to the neighbourly crack Athboy won easy enough this week seems a long time since St Cuthberts played that could be a factor but Cuthberts will still win
Division 5
Boardsmill v Dunderry; Winners to meet Nobber in the Final that will be Boardsmill

Looking forward to O'Mahonys and Ashbourne tonight...should be a good contest just hope the Skryne pitch holds up! Ashbourne are a good team with a lot of talent a few meath minors too but O'Mahonys with Murphy and O'Coileann on song should be strong enough to prevail.

Fantastic performance by Don/Ash. Bet NOM by 1.15 to 2.8 NOM's stars from the Ratoath game failed to turn up, bar no13. Ashbourne had great all round performances throughout. Midfield and Deegan in particular very good.

Credit where credits due fair play to Donaghmore Ashbourne, to a man they were better than O'Mahonys and Deegan destroyed them he was outstanding! It might have been different if some of NOM's key players played up to scratch

Ashbourne have to be massive favourites now. They have more firepower than Dunboyne who I think will overcome Dunshaughlin today. O Mahonys were simply overrated by myself included after beating a Ratoath side who missed about 10 kickacble frees and had McGowan and another out injured with Wallace carrying an injury that had Ratoath effectively playing with 14. Ashbourne had a few notable absentees last night aswell if I'm not mistaken. Fantastic performance to overcome a team who have beaten them so often in finals at this age level.

Serious win by Ashbourne. OMahonys have been kingpins at 15,16 and 17 and have missed the Finno Murtagh influance but big credit to Ashbourne on winning when it really matters they have a great chance of winning it out Ratoath never really had a chance really a division 2 side and nowhere near the big 3 this year.
the day will suit Dunshaughlin in Dunsany today but still cant see an upset

Re Glenny.
I'm starting to think you have a serious grudge against Clan na nGael. All year you tipped against us in the Intermediate and you were consistently wrong, well next tuesday night our minors will prove you wrong again.

No grudge just taught that they punched above their weight and to be honest they should be glad Kells bet them as going Senior next year would have done them no good maybe in a few years but not yet. Can see them in relegation trouble next year

Very impressed with Dunboyne in their win over Dunshaughlin. Considering the day that was in they played extremely well...Mc Entee was very impressive and his link up play with the forwards was key. Looking forward to the final two very good sides but when you look at the overview of the division I make Dunboyne slight favourites!

Should be a fascinating final with two contrasting styles.
One technically gifted the other like a battering ram!

Growtown, can you explain which is which?

Good win for Ballivor against Pats last week definitely contenders with Kelly in midfield...the other semi is Clan na nGael and Cuthberts... I think the Athboy men are strong fit team the battle between Swaine and Power will be intriguing! Another tasty game is NMG and Rathkenny...its Rathkennys to lose and if they control Maolone they'll certainly win

Anyone that has played against dunboyne this year can confirm that they are the battering ram!!! There game plan is built around pure physical power, hard running and fitness. They have one or two very good footballers where as the rest are all athletes. They sre the most organised and well prepared minor club team i have seen and that is a credit to them. Don/Ash are not to far behind them in terms of fitness and preperation. Don/Ash have a good few better all round footballers than Dunboyne. It is no coincedence that the two best prepared and coached teams are in the final!

Growtown couldn't have put it better myself, those were my exact thoughts about both side as well!
DonanDusted I would think it very obvious which is which? Clearly Don/Ash are the technically gifted side with talent oozing out of the entire team, however I believe Donboyne miniors would probably prevail in a weight lifting contest because as per usual with them at this age they put far to much emphasis on hitting there opposition rather then traditionally beating them by simply scoring more!! "battering Ram" excellent Discription.

What a ridiculous statement to make about a group of young lads. Dunboyne have some of the most talented minor footballers in Meath and have gotten this far because of their footballing ability. You'd swear they were all 6ft + and built like weightlifters. I believe the two best footballing teams are in the final and it will come down to who wants it more on the day, and will not be decided by any 'battering rams'
