Intermediate Championship

at the game last night.. cootehill look very impressive. there very good all round the field.. have some lethal forwards that are good enough to win an ulster never mind cavan. tom hayes is a special player.. he completely killed bailieborough.. they could not handle him early on and he got 2 goals and won a penalty. cootheill are good in midfield..there half back line is immense. and there is no team left who could beat them i feel. only ballyhaise but apparently there missing players. you have to remember bailieboro only lost 1 game before the championship and won all there games quite comfortably in the league. so that just shows how good coothill are.

was in breffni last night , cootehil impressed in 1st half should of bein easily in front by 15 at half time , gilly made to great stops, cootehill came out in second half and hit 5 wides and two into keepers hands inside first 10 mins and b.boro captialized on that by comin back into it , cootehill are very strong nearly everywhere on the field and have a lots of impact subs i.e colm smith who kicked in my eyes the point of the championship to date , b.boro will be back a young side and if argue can start catching ball in the middle it would help in last game v laragh as tonite he goes to break , a man of his size should be lordin the middle , well marshalled by the cootehill no 8 last night tho

Well done Cootehill last night in what for me was an easy win. The game was over at half time, think they won with allot up their sleeve. Impressed me from the goal keeper with the short kick outs to the full forward line. Thought the half back line for cootehill was immense. The number 7, young connelly impressed me something serious. Not afraid to get stuck in either for a small lad. Tom hayes stole the show last night and showed why he was one of the best prospects cavan have coming through. Everything he did was done with prefection. Great young player. Feel cootehill have learned alot from loosing the final last year, they seem to have the winning touch this year and a real hunger for a championship. They have gotton alot more agrresive aswel, every lad from small to big was throwing their weight around and getting in the balieborough lads faces, lacken must have thought them a real lesson about that. Cootehill and Ballyahise final i reckon, tough to call.

Drung let Killeshandra off the hook Sunday morning, a gael force wind blowing down the pitch the entire game, Drung played with it in the first half and had a five point lead at half time should of been more! at one stage in the scond half Drung led by six points but fair play to the Leaguers they kept pluging away with Mckiernan kicking the equalising point and then missing the same free to win the game at the death, draw fair result all round but Drung will be dissapointed they had it in the bag, Killeshandra favs for the replay imo a calmer day and Breffni should see them home!

Ballyhaise must be favourites for the championship after the demoloshing they gave swad at the weekend? Look very strong even though there opponents were extremely poor. Cootehill v shercock could end up being a tight game, however if cootehill can take clarke out of the game they should win comfortably!Thats easier said than done though tbh! Any other thoughts on the weekends games?

Shercock played a poor team so hard to make a judgment
I did not see the drawn game between Drung and Killyshandra
Cootehill beat Bailieboro at their ease, not sure if Kearney is a centerhalf back may be suited on the forty ???
Still anyones game but the winners of Shercock V Cootehill I think they will win the intermediate title.

ballyhaise flatter to deceive.cootehill not as good as last year.shercock coming good but not this year. killeshandra strong but relying on one player.drung seem to be going well and very fit.should beat killeshandra in replay.Drung at 10/1 seem a good bet for championship.

Drumlane were poor, but JP Kelly was impressive like he has been all year. County Standard?

I will give you 100/1 on Drung so I will. Are you trying to tell me that if either Ballyahise or Cootehill got Drung they would put it up to them? Im afraid your on a different planet. Who would dare mark the likes of Kevin Tierney, John Mc Cutchon or Enda Hessin? They would have a field day against Drung so they would. Not been anyway offensive to Drung for any supporters out there. Have a funny feeling Cootehill and Ballyhaise will win their next game comfortably. Two very very good young teams against to Junior Clubs in a semi-final. If you said that to either team at the start of the year they would have bitten the hand of ya for it. If both teams get to the final it will be a very interesting one, Ballyhaise are renowned for bricking it where as Cootehill have learned alot from their final in both championship and league last year. Think Cootehill might shade it. Will be an awesome game though.

ballyhaise wont really know where they are after the swad game as swad were terrible... no one is talkin about shercock. I think they can come in under the radar and will give coothill plenty of it, sum great young players and shouldnt have any fear

I was at the game, but was expecting a big upset, going by your build up.

So was I, but there ya go. Missing 4 big players. Still thought we would have put up a better fight than that. The lads were buzzing at training and all. Didnt preform on the day. Think if we had have gotton that goal in the first 30 sconds might have been a different story.

yea i agree with swadman. cootehill and ballyhaise should win there next games comfortably.
cootehill and shercock is interesting. both have some good young players.but i just think its cootehill year. watching them on friday night they just have a great balance and have great forwards.good enough to win ulster never mind cavan. they also have a great mix of experience and youth. they have fantatsic young players mixed with experience who have tasted defeat and will help them young guys on the big stages.shercock have some very good players. very good offensivley but i wonder have they the backs to deal with the cootheill forwards and are the forwards good enough to trouble a fantastic half back line.. it could be tight but i think its cootheills year. also i would doubt if shercock have been really tested.
