Who Needs The League Eh?

(Oldest Posts First)

Listened to an interesting comment on one podcast over the weekend that mentioned players who haven't played many or any league games and how they can just be at the tempo of championship. And then the mentioned the notion if all this training is necessary for all etc - separate rabbit hole!! So I got thinking of a hurling 15 that wouldn't have seen much. Now I haven't 15! But can we make one? Suppose we d have something similar for football.

Hurling - players to consider would be Ciaran Whelan, James Doyle, jack mccullagh (all Carlow), Shane O'Donnell (Clare), TJ Reid (kk), Liam rushe (Dublin - maybe not as prominent for dubs but we ll allow!), Charlie Mitchell (Offaly), Picky Maher (Laois). These are some that spring to mind. Can we pick a 15??

For Wexford Shane Reck, Liam Ryan, Jack O'Connor didnt play at all in the League. Others who will likely start a Championship game this year but didnt start a League game include Cian and Cillian Byrne, and maybe Patsy Molloy.
