I have said it before that that day broke a lot of people's spirits. Tailteann finalists taking up tickets too. If each CB get 5,000, 10,000 long term seats, say 5,000 season tickets leaves 47,000 for public sale. When you think of the opportunity for both counties, it's not unthinkable. Mayo had massive support over the last decade and a bit. It had slipped recently with the regression of their great team, but a good chance to make an All-Ireland final will get them out again. For Louth, it's historic at this stage and they'll also see themselves with a good chance of making the final. The excitement there must be huge. Mayo have a similar support to Donegal, if not more . Louth is a small county but big population, same as Meath. So a sell out is likely. Surprised it didn't sell out . Was at the Cork Dublin semi last year, it was a sell out . Galway didn't travel in massive numbers but thought Cork would have made it a sell out. Just back from today's game . Poor turn out . Limerick didn't travel in massive numbers like years back. Clare actually brought a bigger support. I was there and id say we outnumbered them. 57k is a decent enough crowd for 2 teams from munster( Excluding cork) playing in Dublin. Full houses for both football semi finals. I can never remember both football semi finals getting full houses. Very disappointing for neutrals to have such a one-sided semi final and for the 2nd year in a row for it to happen. How could anyone predict that semi finals in both hurling and football would have been so one-sided? No one saw Galway's easy win over Cork and likewise no one really thought Mayo would hammer Louth. The lads were bet comprehensively in the second half unfortunately but its not the first time a team has lost heavily in a semi. Wee go again and hope to make it back there again some day.
