Replying To Points76:  "It does no good for the players confidence. For years we were a poor team. Not challenging at all. Now we have a brilliant young team who are only going to get better. Is their room for improvement.? Yes. Let's leave it up to robbie. As no one on the forum here is watching the training sessions. He can pick the team. Yes you can have your opinion on here of how the team is picked, but why should you change a winning team as many lads are talking about dropping if they've a poor game v Louth? At the end of the day, it's winter football. We are only going to get better. everyone on here should get behind the team and support . I do question if lads on here even go to the games with some of the comments."
I understand all of the points being argued. Me saying about the 3 lads being dropped isn't a personal attack on them. Some people drift in and out of forum so wit your ideology should you not be getting behind the other lads in the squad getting a look at and getting a right shot in at making a jersey their own. It can't be one rule for one and another for another is all I'm saying. Put the best 15 out based on their last few performances but you can't carry them through based on what they did last year or wait for them to get up to the pace. As we see all too often, the game waits for no one

I understand also. You say put the best 15 out fair enough, based on the last few performances raff , frayne, and costello haven't been at their best, but we have seen their best. Them 3 lads at their best are 3 of the best footballers in the country. They cant play well every game and we are only 2 games in. Hopefully tomorrow the 3 lads have a great game, but talking about them being dropped if they don't have a good game tommorow does not do good for their confidence and adds unnecessary pressure.

Let's play Devil's advocate here and say in some weird parallel universe the 3 of them are dropped, Who do you bring in to replace them all?

One thing is for certain with RB, a name wont keep you on the team, if anyone is out of form for a few games he will manage them and this could mean time on the bench.

Best of Luck to the lads today. Important to keep the winning momentum going and ironing out issues with shot conversion and open defensive middle.

The team named is perhaps the strongest we could name from the panel and it will be interesting to see if there are many changes.

Louth have come out more often than not in the last 5 years it's time to turn that around today with a statement victory. But it's such a tight division of teams the margins are slender.

Mulroy is 11 you were right but i still think O Halloran on him is the best option.

What every serious team needs and we miss, is the professional man marker that is like a piece of velcro. Its not glamorous or flashy. But hes a professional nuisance with engine capacity of a small tractor for when he does get the ball.

I think we will get his over the line today.

Ill believe that when i see it, RB has a huge amount of trust and belief in these players who have turned meath football around and got us to an all ireland semi final. I'm very high on some of the bench players and even some who aren't making the 26, but it's going to take an awful lot to take the jersey off the lads who are currently starting, especially when we are winning.

Looking at the Louth lineup, they still possess alot of talent and threats upfront. People talk alot about Mulroy but Ryan Burns and Ciaran Downey very dangerous players on inside line. Louth have goal threats from many areas. Think they may be missing Tommy Durnin at midfield so Meath can capitalise there so if we can get enough ball we can cause them alot of problems. Expecting it to be a good open game with forecast not bad so far but we will have to play well to win.

Louth brought the thunder tonight as we all suspected they would, and it was a game all about the weather, and the wind in particular.

To paraphrase the post-Cavan game, take the win and get back up the M3 quick!

An excellent result against a local rival and 6 points in 3 games. Great going to all.

Fair play to Louth in fairness, whatever devlin said to them at half time they came out a different team in the second half. Jack Flynn man of the match vs Derry and now back to back game winning 2 pointers vs Cavan and Louth, just incredible. Really hoping Costello and Keoghan injuries aren't serious, neither looked great.

Sam Mulroy hard to pin down when you can't find where he's hiding on the field, but I suppose if he scored that penalty today an the game went the same as it did louth would of won an By 2 points an Sam would of been great
For anyone not actually watching the game,,

A lot of your players went missing second half

Really exciting spectacle from 1st minute with all the black cards. Meath seemed to settle well with midfield dominance in a very similar manner to Cavan match but more efficient albeit a couple of goal chances left behind when trying to walk it in. 2nd half a very different story where Meath didn't seem to attack with same urgency or intent and Louth grew back into. Louth mopped up most of breaking ball while alot of marginal calls went their way where the 2 pointer frees brought them back into the game. What a finish and that man Flynn stepped up again. He is showing brilliant leadership and his big moments in the first 3 matches have got us through. Morris also moving well but he even left a few behind today. Kinsella played well as did Costello in first half. Really need the rest to push on. Lavin was best defender again with really good intercepts. Midfield was excellant for 40 mins or so but thought Menton and McBride tired. Hopefully injuries are not bad and others back soon.

Meath had a poor 2nd half, what about the first half tho ? Really good performance and should have put the game to bed

Consistency is an issue. We are very streaky, we play in bursts even last year we did. We did to Louth in the first half what we should have done to Cavan last week, yet somehow we still needed a buzzer-beater in both games. That's disappointing. The reality is we all know we should have been winning comfortably - by six or seven - even against the wind.

Morris and Caufield are two of our very best - absolutely fantastic - but they're also among the biggest culprits for wasted ball. Lennon kicked four points wearing seven; Caufield could easily have had 1-1, and Morris could have had a lot more.
At times it feels like Morris' brain is working faster than the rest of the team. He sees pictures others don't. But with a bit more game management, he needs to recognise that chipping the point three times out of four is better than trying to slip a wing-back or midfielder every time and only getting one score out of it.

Costello just oozes ability - I only wish we saw more of him. Is full forward his best position?

Kinsella has just gone straight back to business, a great player for us.

Frayne looks to be getting on the ball more played some dangerous ball and got a couple of scores.

I was also surprised at how few frees we won or even played for. The opportunity for gamesmanship isn't really there anymore with the new rules, but it would have been no harm for Brennan or Flynn to be putting the ball on the deck around the 50 and just kill Louth's momentum.

I was surprised Morris stayed on given the yellow and he took a big knock in the fist half I thought banty would have been ideal to bring on and let him zip around.

Any updates on the squad, jones, curtis, gray would be good options on the bench.
