Replying To Meathfootball12:  "Now hold on a second, Southmeathgael, we had an outstanding championship last year, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. Over the last 10 years, we have been very similar to those counties Cork and Kildare.

I am also hopeful, but Division Two will be very tough, as I would rank both Derry and Tyrone ahead of us as of today. We have a poor record against Louth in the last couple of years when the game truly mattered."
Not to mention we are the only county in Ireland who'll not have any home games. Bar the Monaghan game Pairc Tailteann was a fortress last season. While I think games in croke Park are really important for the development of our players, its not helpful to our league chances this year. If we finished anywhere from 3rd to 5th that's not a disaster.

Meath best Dublin, Galway and Kerry in the 2025 Champioship, AKA. The only team that beat Kerry.

Yes they did and fair play to them . I'm just saying if that was mayo who lost by 20 points in a semi we would get slagged to hell . Alot what I say on here is tongue in cheek haha. But Dubs are rebuilding , Galway are overated and Kerry were only in 2nd gear when Meath beat them to be fair to kerry .

I agree that playing in Croke Park will only benefit in the long run. In the past, I think, the league has been the main priority, with Division 1 being the goal, with the possibility of a Leinster title almost impossible due to Dublin.

This year, I think this is different, with our main goal/priority being to win a Leinster championship. I would and think most would agree with taking a leinster title over winning league 2

Any challenge match this weekend after last week's runout versus Mayo? Expect plenty of more lads to be tried out in games in advance of new year!

Draw, Donegal missing Murphy, Thompson and Gallen anyways,
Meath team was
Billy Hogan
Lavin Rafferty O'Halloran
Keoghan Coffey Caulfield
McBride Flynn
Duke Hickey Costello
Morris Curtis Lynch
A solid result without Frayne, Kinsella, Conor Gray, James Conlon, Ronan Ryan and plenty more

Wasn't told exactly, all I heard was no Michael Murphy, Ciaran Thompson, Eoghan Ban Gallagher, or Oisin Gallen

Strong linout with at least 10 likely to be regular starters in the new year. Heard there was another challenge against Wexford yesterday too so that was probably another at least 20 lads getting valuable minutes in the legs.

What a win for the lads today against what would widely be considered Wicklows first team!

Good performance from the Meath development team against wicklow today. Niall Finnerty was the pick of the forwards in the first half and Diarmuid Moriarty was very impressive in the 2nd half. All the backs played well. It wiill be hard for Robbie to ignore the two castletown lads. Both serious footballers.

Good first half performance today. Let Wicklow back into the game in the 2nd half.
Some great performances. Finnerty looks like he has huge potential. McConnell looks decent and is one for the future. Very light though (at the moment). Thought Smullen did well before going off injured. Moriarty was the pick of the bunch. Looks strong and conditioned. Would like to see him given more of a chance this year. Oisin Martin played quite well also.
We were cleaned out of it on their kickouts. Don't think we won one until midway through the 2nd half. Bit of a worry there, especially with Gray in midfield. Jackson was able to pick out a blue shirt with ease. To be fair, he's a great kicker of a ball. On that, our Keeper, his kick outs were poor (although he did other GK duties really well). He either let the ball hang in the air for an eternity, or put it over the sideline.
It's Offaly away on Wednesday I believe?

Think they lost to Limerick but I could be wrong, can anyone verify this?

Unfortunately the word on the Limerick game is not a win, I'm unsure whether it was a draw or not but apparently the team changed every few minutes to give lads a run out and some didn't even play because of sigerson
