Congrats to the Deise, wouldn't have begrudged Clare at all if they had won but Waterford Hurling needed this badly, a great result for them. Hopefully this will give the whole county a lift and push them on.

Huge congrats to Waterford..by far the better team and some very promising young fellas on it..Clare on the day fell short but they also have players coming through..
However a lot of these boys are only 16/17 so let's give them time to develop..hopefully we in limerick can also keep the trend going and stop the big 2 in Munster from dominating again..

Congrats to those young players. Thrilling performance from both sides. Munster hurling at least is in good hands.

Thank you everyone for the support. It proves again for any county trying to scale the ladder no one can replace the passion commitment and work required than your own county leaders. It is true for this team and all our teams. Jocker, Peter Queally, Ken McGrath played with passion and pride for Waterford.

I attended this game on Saturday. Big crowd surge just before throw in and a great atmosphere. The parade was like a senior All Ireland final, the noise and colour was fantastic.

I thought Clare's distribution let them down on the day. They are clearly miles better than this final showing.

Waterford took some beautiful scores and were generally more menacing. Spain is some hurler but a lot of his scores were from great teamwork.

Great scenes afterwards and it was a privilege to be there. Well done Waterford, if these young players develop further you have a fine team coming through.

Super win. They played very well and it's wonderful to see both these Counties in a minor final. The game is in a good place. Hopefully some of these lads see success at senior level.

On the night we were very very poor Waterford fully deserved title more physical and far better teamwork once our inside line was held we were well shackled no excuses but i believe Paul Rodgers played most with a broken thumb.

Hope all these players continue playing hurling for both Counties read somewhere that one of WD backs is turning to Rugby

Will any make their way towards senior or will off field distractions yet again scupper Waterford progress? A real pity.

It is always a difficult question. Life takes so many different turns in this period of growing up. I'd assume some will play senior. How many? I think 7 or 8 did from 2013. The great captain Kevin Daly did not because of injury.

Looney while it was a great night for Waterford one has to have empathy for the young Clare lads. They will have put in a massive effort to get to this final and were excellent in their semi final. Loosing a final is painful. The Banner will rise again.
