The story with Johnston is that he got an inter-county transfer from Cavan to Kildare all right. But the rules of the time were that before he could line out with the Kildare county footballers, he had to play in a club match there. And as chance would have it, there were only club hurling matches coming up before the Kildare county team were due in action again. So despite never having held a hurl in his life, he got a loan of one (and a helmet!) somewhere, togged off for a club hurling match, and came on for the last two minutes. He probably never used hurl or helmet again after that either!"]The rule was only brought in to try and stop him playing with Kildare. But it never said what code you had to play. I think it caused trouble for London the following year as anyone who moved to London in the new year wasn't able to play for them. God I remember the Seanie Johnston days on here, that's when this place was good craic. It's like waiting for tumbleweed on here these days.

One of his brothers won multiple AI Football championships with Dublin, and another won multiple AI hurling championships with Kilkenny. Some family!!!

He only had to make an appearance so he started the match and was substituted at the earliest first chance possible. An absolute farce."]No apology required. We all now that it's your form to be often wrong. But we're a forgiving crowd on here!
