Replying To Points76:  "regional championships is muck"
Absolutely. Nonsense. Should only be open to U25s and involve 4 regional teams only.

And players should be actually from the region they are playing for.

Tweaks to the rules make it a different game again against Monaghan next week, assuming they're all passed by Central Council on Monday. Without the keeper up it's going to be a lot more frenetic, more one on ones and turnover and hard to slow if there's a lead to protect or playing into the wind.

This could play into our hands just at the right time. As good as Billy Hogan is at going up the field, the current master of the fly keepers is Rory Beggan.

Yes Beggan is really good at it, his kick passing inside creates the overlaps. You could still see him come up and stand right on the half way line and that piggy in the middle be along midway instead of on the 45m line. It will be interesting to see how Beggan and co deal with this.

The difference would be if he stands just inside halfway he can be marked by one of our 3 forwards who have to stay up

Can a keeper do that though? Think a backpass to his keeper anywhere in his half is still not allowed.

You are correct. Time now for everyone (including the inter county managers, who make up only 2% of the GAA) to get on with things. It is a better game and the good coaches & managers will embrace the challenge.

Huge game on Sunday. Arguably our biggest league match in decades. The bookies have Monagahn favourites which is probably fair given their experience and consistency this year, Roscommon match aside. Plus the injuries we've had may hit us harder than more than deeper panels.
Still, it's in Navan, we've beaten Roscommon already, the Rory Beggan factor will be diminished by rules adjustments and surely there will be lessons learnt from Westmeath match. Should be a frenetic game.

Big game this weekend.

Super to be coming into it looking up the table and not down it.

All things considered we can give it a good craic. I'd be be more focused about putting a good performance in and if we come up just short then so be it.

Very lucky to get out of Mullingar with the points having been poor in a lot of areas. Hopefully that has been ironed out with the rest week.

Haven't heard much by way of players being in or out.

Best of luck to the lads on Sunday. A huge game and a huge opportunity to get promoted with a win.

As predicated we all knew this league would be very competitive and was a case of been promoted or relegated , thankfully we have won games we would normally loose.

Agree with comments regarding Westmeath game, it was practically daylight robbery but we will take it. Left very exposed at times in defence.

Thought Sean Coffey was a huge loss in this game with the amount of covering and work off the ball he does. Will be missed unfortunately for the rest of this campaign ( and yes he is a brack like myself but he is an absolute machine with his work rate at both club and county so excuse the bias ).

We will need to score 2 or 3 goals to win Sunday but capable of doing it.

We in complete bonus territory now , nothing to loose and can give it a good go.

No danger of relegation

The lads have given us much to cheer this year, its time now for the Meath crowd to really get behind this team and get them over the line. Looking forward to having a major hangover Monday morning

is Coffey out for the league campaign only or for the rest of the season? Agree that he's a big loss.

This craic of not naming the full 26 before the game!!! Surely means Costello will be named?

Yeah frustrating not to get the full 26, i dont know any other county that does this. Costello won't play any league, great to see Moriarty named to start. Heard Jack Flynn is carrying an injury and might not play.

Been crying for Moriarty for two years, hopefully we acc get to see him today and also I'm not made look a fool…. Over the last few weeks some important players have been unavailable. coffey, Costello, kinsella, jones, I don't know what was going on with McGowan two weeks ago.

Hopefully we get to see a few of those faces back. I noticed Charlie o Connor who was on the bench last time played for dunsh yesterday. Maybe that means we have both Conor gray and Cian McBride at full strength.

Jesus we are so loose.

conceding 1 - 20 in first half.

Just have to come out a and go for everything in second half , nothing to lose now.

Moriarty is a class act, wouldn't be judging him on today , more game time he gets the better he will be.
