Replying To Yadse:  "Hayes was always talked up as a potential center back for Limerick - even when he was in the forwards
I guess the argument for is his physicality, and playing CB its harder to play around him like Cork did in the semi last year
Dont think he is as good a ball distributor as Hannon, and the big unknown is whether his legal difficulties might mean he doesnt even play this year.
Nash I am sure is a possibility, but he adds a different dimension to our FB line. Richie English is retired, Finns form still TBD, and Casey seems to be slowing down so not sure we have as many options in FB line as the half back line.
Management knows these players inside out and I am sure they have plenty of options in mind

And maybe Hannon is coming to the end, but he will still play a role - without captaincy and if fully fit he could nail down that starting spot again."
Your forgetting about Fergal O'Connor in the full back line, he needs a full 5 or 6 games in the league this year to get experience playing against top players. If he nails down a corner back spot that would release Barry Nash for out the field. O'Connor is very similar to Nash as an attacking corner back and has a lot of pace.

I just see a match v waterford on Sunday.€10 entrance fee but no mention of it being for charity or a fundraiser..why is there a charge?the league for limerick starts the weekend after and surely people will be paying enough with 4 matches in Gaelic grounds..don't think this is a good look for limerick Gaa.

Is in a club field or where is the match on?
If it's on at a club field, I would imagine the club will be the main benefactors from the entrance fee?

As far as I can see its on in the Gaelic Grounds but I stand corrected. If its on there then once again the County Board showing very little respect to the genuine Limerick Supporter in my opinion.

That isn't a lack of respect for anyone. There is costs to run any game especially in a large stadium. Between steward/security/any retail or hospitality etc etc. A tenner isn't that much and it's ploughed back into the sport so wheres the issue

Lads it's a tenner to see 1 of hurling greatest ever teams, they'll be gone in a few years and we'll have plenty to whinge about then. It'll be the first time most of us has seen them in 6 months, I'd gladly pay twice the entrance fee-JP can't pay for everything.

Havnt seen anything unless tg4 take it up..very strange that it wasn't picked for television coverage..it's the 2nd game that cork are playing and no live coverage, also both teams provided 2 thrillers last year..

Who won that match against Waterford? Limerick o heard, but what was the score and what kind of teams were out? Who was between the sticks for Limerick. You'd pay a tenner into a league match I guess. Would be a nice gesture to have thrown the gates open too mind; especially now they've started charging for U16's herein

Limerick 1-21 Waterford 0-18. I believe it was a shadow Waterford team. Not sure about Limerick but would imagine the same. That is the way for Waterford for the foreseeable future. Injuries and unavailability.

From reports that I read 1st half was score for score. Limerick had 7 or 8 starting who started in AI semifinal.
Limerick made 12 or 13 changes at half time and used 31 players over the course of the match. Waterford also made numerous changes. Limerick had a purple patch early in 2nd half to lead by 9 on 10 but Waterford finished strong.

I think the opposition in Munster will feel both mighty be vulnerable this year. What ever about us I think Limerick will have a spring in their step to get back on top.

Will be very interesting to see what Team starts on Saturday night.

Cork look like they are flying it and playing them in the Pairc is never easy.

Lots of Limerick fellas have played half matches in each of the three challenge matches played to date, so it is difficult to know where they are at really. I would imagine that some of the more senior players will be eased into the league as it progresses as some won't have much work done, or will be in the middle of heavy pre season load beacuse they are back late (i.e. Dan was in Australia up to the first week in January, Tom is still in South America and the Patrickswell contingent were living it up in Dubai over Christmas).

I'd imagine it will be the same approach as the last couple of years where you will get a new face on every line of the field and with some experienced player(s) to back them up.

I think Limerick have picked a strong team, blending youth with experience. It's early in the year and will be a good test of both teams. I'll be interested in seeing how Cormac O' Brien performs against Hegarty, and Cork's full forward line against a strong Limerick full back line. Cork are without 2 Downey's, Dalton and O' Donoghue. I hope to see a few substitutes like Mullins come on!

I'd love to know what jobs would give you time off like that

Disappointed we didn't close out the game last night as apart from the first quarter we looked the better side throughout
Entertaining game in what looked like terrible conditions and a point in Cork not a terrible outcome. And plenty of encouraging performances. Gillane looked the part and the 2 long range frees a nice bonus. He picked out forwards a few times with pinpoint accuracy and seemed confident, slowing the game down when it needed it
Coughlan looked great at times but seems to lose concentration at times and do dumb things. He has everything to be a regular starter but not sure about him. Same with Barry Murphy - and they must see him as a potential starter in the corner so they might leave him in again
Kyle Hayes was absolutely immense, turned the game when it needed turning - if we lose him it will be a catastrophe.
Lynch was also purring after a slow start
A few other injury concerns WOD (also immense) went off holding his hamstring, Finn did not come back for second half so may have picked up a knock

English always looks the part even if he tends to overplay the ball at times
O Connor and O Donovan did well but look a bit like the days when Limerick produced a lot of small, tidy forwards but who lacked the physique to thrive. I hope I am wrong. And no fears of Shane O Brien on that account. Houlihan also has the physique but doubts remain
And not sure if we had many of our regulars on the bench but noticeable that when game was in the balance Kiely went for newbies (Scully, Houlihan
All told great to have the hurling back and a nice little appetizer for the spring and summer
