Replying To The_analyser:  "Can see Donegal easing off towards the end of league and not reaching the final. The Ulster championship starts for them directly after a possible final. As for us the next block of games (Monaghan (H) Meath (A) Cork (A) will pretty much decide if we are to be promoted or not."
Derry bombed after their draw with Dublin in the league final last year so McGuinness will hardly make the same mistake of fielding his championship side to win it out. Mind you, it would be a nice prize for his first term back.

Derry and Mayo in need of wins this weekend after 2 losses so far. If Donegal get 2 wins from rounds 3, 4 and 5, they'll be happy enough with their league campaign.

Donegal Armagh will be a good test of how well the new rules have changed things

Not sure if the Derry Galway draw benefits anyone. Derry have a point on the board I suppose and did their own Lazarus impersonation! Not the result Kerry wanted obviously. 2 home games gone to the opposition.
Meath and last year's beaten Munster semi-finalists with wins in Division 2. Wexford beat Carlow in D4. 3 wins from 3 now for Wexford. Promotion on the cards. Westmeath with 3 losses in D2 looking at relegation and Tailteann.

Strange to hear Farrell saying they were not chasing points!

Should be safe now and two more wins possibly ensure a final.

Last night was huge squad building morale booster. Doggedness and aggression is default for any man getting a jersey.

Kerry and Jack looked less than pleased. They do not stand up well under pressure. That won't be easily resolved. Championship will be shark pool.

Recent years they don't 2024 and so far but it's still early yet

Not so sure. They'll likely face sterner tests again from one of the big Ulster teams or Galway in championship rather than Dublin. They have the players and the skill sets and all the other attributes. Not big into psychological sports theories, but there's some things you can't teach on training pitch.

Referee's need more control over the clock. It runs on in certain games for 15,20 seconds after he calls timeout.

Two of the worst teams Mayo and Tyrone playing in Div 1 I've seen in years..
Tyrone at least have quality forwards to come back..
Mayo are a busted flush..
Bringing on the usual lads and taking off young lads..

Good win for Roscommon over Monaghan. Are Roscommon now favourites for the All Ireland after the recent success of Division 2 counties?

Donegal the best team in Ireland by a distance at the moment, flying fit, loads of forward options..
Early and clear favourites for Sam 25

It certainly looks that way - but let's not forget the hype around Derry a year ago !

Donegal very good. Beaten the last 3 All Ireland champions with a bit in hand.

McBrearty in prime of life. Next week v Galway is likely prelude to league final.

But, this time last year Dublin and Derry were the talking horses. McGuinness will have learned from that.

It's February so McGuinness won't be getting carried away. He's smarter than that. With these new rules, a number of counties have a shot. A very interesting and open championship awaits this Summer.

Roscommon almost guaranteed to replace Mayo in Div 1 next year, Monaghan replacing Tyrone

Was one silly harmless incident in fairness. Murphy didn't make a meal of it either.

Deserved to walk of course. You can't be at that now!

Really poor from Forker. There was great discipline in the squad last year, a big reason why Sam rests in the Orchard County. Early days.
