Would be some kick below if we are are playing Christy ring hurling next year. As previously mentioned I was unsure where we would pick up points this year

I think Kerry will beat one of Down or Westmeath to stay up.

Down have conceded 12 goals in two matches.

Westmeath seem to be in disarray.

Westmeath 2-24 Down 0-20, TEG Cusack Park FT
Carlow 1-20 Kildare 2-23, Netwatch Cullen Park FT
Kildare pull off a shock! Didn't see that one coming. Kildare can now look at mounting a challenge for the final!
Important win for Westmeath in the battle to retain McDonagh status. Retaining status looks to be a three way battle currently.

Westmeath are right in it for a place in the final. Big game v Carlow next weekend in Mullingar. Must win for both.

Great win for Kildare and fully deserved by all accounts has blown the competition wide open.

Disappointed for our lads who never seemed to get going but truth be told they weren't allowed to get going either.

Next round will be interesting if Kildare beat laois they have down last who they'll fancy to beat also. Putting them in to the final.

Carlow have to beat westmeath next week and then face laois which could easily become a winner takes all game similar to the league game this year where we got the result on the day but could have gone other way to.

Leaves a very exciting couple of weeks ahead for the teams involved. The Joe Mac keeps producing year after year.

Today really was a disastrous result for Carlow. Kildare now have us on the head to head so assuming Kildare beat Down then Carlow will need to beat both Westmeath and Leix to make the final.

6 pts win against a team like Carlow is a sign of where Kildare are at. We set out ro claim a final spot from the off, we are still a work in progress.

Big win for Laois today over Kerry; they looked fit and had it sewn up at half time, leading 5-12 to 0-9. James Duggan getting 5-2 in the opening half, and barely touched the ball in the second half!
Surprising loss for Carlow. Kildare look physically strong. Big game next weekend. I expect Laois to win it - they have a strong panel this year, and pretty much no one missing, bar through injury.

No surprise with the result today. Kildare the surprise of the weekend, possibly creating a battle for the final.
Westmeath are probably safe but for the moment it looks like a 3 way final battle and a 3 way survival battle. Down are probably favourites to survive being Division 2 winners and all that. Sure we'll hope for the best.
