Replying To Viking66:  "Usual Kilkenny poor mouth. They've some excellent hurlers in the 18-21 bracket."
Have to agree viking i think they might not be as bad as there saying probably wont know how good or bad they are till the round robin is over.Kk seem to have a knack of improving whn round robin ends at all grades so wouldnt judge too much on next weekend either.

Best of luck to the lads tonight.no injuries and a close game, here hoping. I was impressed enough with under 19s last night. They were far the better team but they will need to cut out the concession of soft goals

Anyone writing Kilkenny off at any level needs to have a rethink.

Wides wides and more wides

If we were able to convert all these scoring opportunities into points rather than wides, we'd be dangerous

Im not suprised with the good performance. The players were sore getting relegated and 2 very poor matches. Limerick are only back from a training camp i think. This is the perfect performance heading into the championship after a poor league. It will be alot easier train after a good performance. Knuckle down now for the championship. Limerick will be a different animal in a few weeks

Good win and performance was good considering it was a half strength Limerick team, I think there's a spot for Cian Molloy at wing back in a months time, 20 odd wides is worrying and at least one of those goal chances from the OConnors should have been buried.

Their goal was a result of the biggest crux in our play and management need to realise that we don't have the ability to play around with the ball 50 yards from goal, we're at our best when we're playing direct i.e running off the shoulder, I think that's 5 goals in the league we've conceded from us giving the ball away and being caught out. That could be the winning or losing of a game vs Galway or Dublin.

Now time to hop on the championship rollercoaster again.

That's a great result.

It's not Limerick's best team and was a dead rubber but there a loads of positives there. More wides than scores obviously a big concern but we did all the hurling tonight.

I've a pain in my face saying it but Molloy is 100% one of our best 6.

1. Anybody
2. E Ryan
3. Jippo
4. S Reck
5. C Foley
6. D Reck
7. Molloy
8. Lawlor
9. Hearne
10. Jacko
11. Chin
12. Dunbar
13. Byrne
14. Still Mac
15. Rory

We've built a fairly decent bench now with a few lads who can make an impact at key stages in games.

I'm disappointed we couldn't put Galway away and could have stayed up, but also hopeful for championship once we keep improving at this rate week to week.

If I had to guess for the Antrim game if there's no more injuries picked up between now and then I think Donohue will start ahead of Jippo on the basis he has more minutes under his belt this year.

Would think with McDonald being out til the Galway game it'll be a toss up between Jack Redmond and Foley for the last forward spot.

Richie Lawlor will be wing back. Molloy wont be starting, Mac wont be starting. Dunbarr to midfield, Kevin to forwards and need fill one space in forwards.

Were any of you actually at the match or listening to Spratt? I heard Spratt said it was a great performance but the GAA writers up summed it up better with - Poor control, inaccurate passing and dismal shooting were common themes.

It's great to get the win and the Limerick supporters were not happy, ref was on our side for a change also but as many have said it was a Limerick B team playing. Great morale boost for the team but let's not be under any illusion that we turned some important corner and found our form. It was a hard match to watch at times with so many wides.

Didn't make the match last night due to club commitments. Sounded like our backs played very well . We created a lot of chances need to be more clinical although it sounded like the wind was a factor. Can see the team v Antrim be very close to what started last night. Sounds like Molloy took his chance. We will hopefully have Jippo and Cian Byrne back in the panel also. A good nights work hopefully the lads enjoy Portugal and we have a clean bill of health come the Antrim game

Still problems down that spine. Huge reliance on Jippo's fitness. I'm a fan of Molloy too but suspect Donohue and/or Mcguckian might be ahead of him in the pecking order.

Kevin Foley will start v Antrim Id say. Form of Chin and Rory a worry? Credit to Rossiter for giving lots of lads chances in the league but I think our bench looks weak. Was hoping a few more players would have stepped forward during the league and put likes of Jacko, K Foley, Dunbar etc under serious pressure for starting positions. But that hasn't really happened.

Have to laugh at some of the negativity on here, KK beat a similar Limerick side at home by a similar enough scoreline and they didn't hit anywhere near as many wides as us, could make an argument that 9 of that Limerick team could be starting come Championship time as well (Not that they played anywhere near their peak ability)

Galway won three tight enough games and got well-beaten in their three other games and yet some on here seem content to let the negativity fester, KK and Galway are not miles clear of us, there's very little between us and them although at the same time, as much as we are able to beat them, they're capable of beating us and so are Dublin and probably Offaly as well (And Antrim depending on what Wexford team shows up)

Last night was a confidence boost and regardless of what sort of team Limerick had out and how well/poorly they played, it puts us in a better spot for Championship. Have to remember that we were beaten fairly easily by them two years ago in a lifeless game, at least we're in a better spot than where we were two years ago

You're probably right. I'm suggesting our strongest team. Not what we'll actually get.

Donohue and fanning don't seem to able to get out of the team.
