Replying To legendzxix:  "The GPA argument is that they have to be back training 6 weeks before "competitive" preseason games where people are paying to attend. With challenge games, there can be flexibility in playing games by quarters, using the full squad etc. Essentially GPA only want players back in training around 6 weeks before the league.
The compromise has to be challenge elements to those preseason tournaments. Be that 4 quarters of 15 minutes and interchanging substitutions throughout."
With all that being sain im not sure on your stance , should they go ahead or not

In future years, maybe a solution could be to reduce the league by the number of pre-season games, say three.

League divisions with two "balanced, mixed-quality" groups of four - 4v4 for a 4-game schedule - top 2 of 8 to each Div Final like now.

That would be crazy to destroy an important competition that actually works well to facilitate pre-season matches.

Are county boards entitled to charge entry for challenge matches? I will happily pay in to watch a challenge game next January
