the Meath senior football champions seem to have the same faith in Leinster as the Irish rubby team. Quarter final exit every time! MartryMorrisey (Meath) - Posts: 19 - 21/10/2024 16:37:38 2576214 Link 1 |
Meath Hill fall at the first hurdle against what seems to be a strong Caragh side. Best of luck to Dunshaughlin tomorrow. Ratoath Royal (Meath) - Posts: 1373 - 02/11/2024 20:40:43 2577997 Link 0 |

Here we go. Luckily for Robbie Brennan he has more clubs than Dunshaughlin to pick from. Of the Dunshaughlin team today, Matthew Costello is the only one who is a guaranteed starter in the Meath team. Gray and Kinsella are outside the starting the 15 in my opinion and no other Dunshaughlin player is up to county standard. That performance and defeat was coming for Dunshaughlin. They were blessed against Dunboyne and again against Wolfe Tones. Yes, Meath club football has a lot of improving to do across the board at all levels. The standard of skill and in particular Strength and Conditioning levels are way off other counties in Leinster, namely Dublin, Kildare, Louth and now Westmeath. Dunshaughlin looked like a poor intermediate team compared to St Lomans. BigJoe14 (Meath) - Posts: 997 - 03/11/2024 16:59:24 2578155 Link 3 |
Well done to Dunsany winning their first ever provincial game. They'll be up against Kilcavan of Laois for a place in the Leinster final. Ratoath Royal (Meath) - Posts: 1373 - 10/11/2024 11:52:35 2579091 Link 1 |
I agree with some of what you say but not with others. I think you weren't at enough club championship games going by your comment in relation to Ruairi Kinsella, he was injured for the Loman's game and probably should never have started but for the entire Senior Championship he was the most outstanding player. Not only was he the Senior Championship overall top scorer, even in the games he didn't score in, like the Summerhill game, his work-rate was immense and he won six turnovers in the first half alone and for me he was man of the match even that day. Kinsella is the engine of Dunshaughlin and after he pulled up in the first few minutes against St. Loman's , it was even more apparent how vital he is to Dunshaughlin. I hope Robbie Brennan is more astute at picking his starting fifteen. As for Conor Gray, Colm O' Rourke brought him back into Meath way too soon after his serious illness & surgery, very few people thought when he was lying in his bed recovering in the Mater that he would play any football in 2024, but be in no doubt he will be flying in 2025. The MVP's in the three 2024 championships were Kinsella, Breslin & Harken. madmeath (Meath) - Posts: 83 - 17/11/2024 12:45:36 2579955 Link 0 |
Another loss, albeit a late one, means that Dunsany are the only Meath team to win a game in Leinster this year. Ratoath Royal (Meath) - Posts: 1373 - 18/11/2024 09:43:50 2580095 Link 1 |
