Replying To dickie10:  "For the first time since quater finals came in 2007, we will have a really cut throat hurling championship next year, the westmeath model should be brillaint. id say there will be big numbers at matches from the first round on as its nearly win or bust, real proper championship fare next year. im looking forward to it already. 6 best teams in group, top goes straight to final and 2nd v 3rd in play off, thats a brillaint system, still 3 going out of 6 which gives plenty of chances but plenty of jeoprady too. 4 out of 6 would have been disastrous setup. as a team could go to a final with just one win out of 5 matches like ratoath in 2022 i think. games being out of navan will help a lot as well, more matches in Boardsmill, Kilmessan, Athboy and Kildalkey would be a big help to atmosphere. Imagine Ratoath v Trim in a first round match in Kilmessan? or Kildalkey v Trim in Athboy to stay in championship basically a semi final as it was in 90 and 94 in Athboy. When county board sees it in action they will kick themselves they didnt have it in years before."
100% use the club grounds but the county board can't keep an eye on tickets....

Rathmolyon, Boardsmill, Kildalkey, Athboy, Kilmessan, Kiltale, Batterstown should all be hosting senior championship games. Brings a serious atmosphere to the place and it rewards the clubs doing unbelievable work in upgrading and improving facilities.
Imagine
Ratoath V Kilmessan in Batterstown
Trim V Kildalkey in Boardsmill
Na Fianna V Trim in Rathmolyon

Killyon V Longwood in Baconstown
NOM v Dunderry in Athboy
BHG v K/M in Kildalkey

Would be great first round games in club grounds next year.

Will never happen.

Replying To Slowandonesided25:  "Confirmed this morning the new hurling coach is former Limerick goalkeeper Barry Hennessy. He is the one taking all the coaching and the players are responding to everything like never before.

There is a new S&C coach that was involved with the Dublin hurlers last season also. The rest of the management team is the same with Sean Crash Corrigan , Tom Shine and Dermot Moran( Dublin) with Johnny Greville"
Thanks for that. That sounds very promising. Barry Hennessy was announced a while back as coach so it must have been the new S&C coach that was being described to me.
Let's hope for big improvements this year

Seniors played the U20s last night in Dunganny

Speaking to one of the parents that was at it in Trim this morning they seem to have a very young group with some experienced heads there. 3 sets of brothers playing last night with the Coles, the Shines and the Leaveys. Seniors racked up a big score 9-30 something and missed another 6/7 goal chances the 20s keepers pulling off some great saves. Shane Whitty back in the set up but no sign of Quigley or Toher
