Yeah, fair play to them. Should be an interesting final this year. Much needed weekend off now for all before the final.
Dublin's football championship is inter county player friendly. 3 group games and no more than 3 knockout games. Feet up then for the winter.

Down here we have Castletown v Gusserane in the final. A repeat of the 2019 final which Castletown won. Gusserane then knocked Castletown out in the QF in 2021, while Castletown won last year's match up between the 2 at the SF stage. Hopefully that would make it Gusseranes turn to win this year!!!!

Would love to be at Crokes/Daingean and might be! Although same weekend as our county hurling final which promises to be another Crokes/Fianna epic so possibly not.

Football final on Sunday between Crokes footballers (no end to them!) and Cuala should be good, Nothing against Crokes but would love to see Cuala stopping them winning four in a row! Also be great to see Con and Fitz (and rest of team of course) get a crack at winning a county and more.

Apart from Con, are there any more of the All-Ireland winning hurling teams on the football team at the moment?

Just himself. Might be one or two peripheral panel members but can't think of any off top of head. Not huge crossover between their hurling and football at adults.

If Con did go on to win football AI that would put him in small elite! Maybe one of Finbarrs in Cork?

Alan Kerins as well. He did it with two different clubs though. Clarinbridge in hurling and Salthill in football.

Ah. Some achievement all the same. Has to be a few Barrs players from 70s. Names not coming to me though.

Crokes are a semi professional team

If the GAA had balls they would investigate them and relegate them.
If it can be done to Juventus in Seria A, why not a Shamateur organisation in the GAA.

Waterford SFC final
Rathgormack 2-10 Ballinacourty 0-08
Rathgormack will take on the Kerry or Cork champions in the Munster semi-final. It'll be a Cork or Waterford venue.

Relegate them for what?

Late to the party here - What finals are on this week, available for streaming or that - I don't have a dodgy box. I'd like to sit up and watch a few. Any to keep an eye out for?

Trillick v Errigal in Tyrone on Friday evening should be a right good game , whoever wins quite possibly could give Ulster a good rattle

Tyrone clubs saying this for the last 25 years … Omagh the only team since 2000 to make a final …

Why do Tyrone Clubs consistently fare so poorly in the USFC?

A lot of people point to the Tyrone SFC been so competitive etc and teams are tired etc but it's a lazy excuse .. the junior and intermediate teams fare very well. In fairness Ulster is so competitive and teams lose by a point or 2. Another reason would be that to do well in Ulster you need experience in it … if there is a different winner every year it's hard to build into it and you work so hard to win the Tyrone champ they celebrate it.

A different winner every year is part of the problem. When a team can win up to 10 county finals in a row it gives them a winning mentality. Celebrating is more important when it's a rare thing.

Agreed, but it's still doable. From a Galway point of view, we've had the likes of Caltra win their first county title and go all the way to win the All-Ireland. Salthill did the same after winning their first county title in 15 years. Maigh Cuilinn recently won Connacht at their first attempt (they didn't get a chance in 2020 due to Covid).
