Those of you suggesting we should leave hurling and never change anything should remember that the reason we now have so many more goals compared to a few years ago is because of the black card penalty rule that was brought in a few years back. I think the game is doing just fine as it is. Players are scoring points from all over and all ranges which is one of the great spectacles of the game. The game is fine… no need for any rule changes.. As for the black card rule…maybe you should remind Murphy of that one.. his failure to implement it probably cost Cork an All Ireland this year…

Just looking at club football within our own county, the art of kicking long range or even short range points is a dying one - maybe not so much dying as being weeded out by coaches. Looking at the warm ups pre game, lads are having a go from all angles and distances, mostly successful. Then the match starts and the same guys have to nearly be on the twenty one and unmarked before they have a go, or keep trying for a goal. Not great from a spectator perspective - but it looks as if spectators or the paying public, are not important anymore. Hurling is different in that players seem to enjoy having a go for a point. The more outrageous or spectacular the better. Maybe Jim Galvins committee can come up with something to get people back to watching or attending games.

How can you say that. There was a replay in 2013 and they did not win it. Extra time in 18 and they did not win it either.

After the camogie final one might need to decrease the value of a goal. The RTE match report said the sliother was "bungled" into the goal. It was tossed in. How can Galway not appeal the result?
