Replying To KillingFields:  "What sexist nonsense
What sports should women be allowed play then.
Why is any bit more natural for men but not women to compete in these sports."
If we could get a few of our male boxers to declare as women we'd get a lot more medals at the next Olympics.
Hit a woman and you should go to jail, hit her in a boxing ring you get a medal.
I see Trump saying if he gets in there'll be no more men competing in women's sports.

Rare to see it but can only be a good thing despite the circumstances, maybe people will realise we have more in common than divides us.

I try to stay away from that one. To be fair that woman was never found guilty of anything.

Their coaches all agreed. They're not racing till Friday.
Many others running in relay and hoping to medal will still be in the individuals on same days as relay final.

A beautiful sight indeed Irish fascists joining forces with loyalist fascists come drug dealers, drinking with lads in Sandy Row who murdered innocent Catholics. It would bring a tear to the eye.

No, she wasn't and I think it's pretty well accepted at this stage in time that she wasn't alone.

Replying To TheFlaker:  "He didn't put undue pressure on himself. That's the way he is for every race. That's the same attitude he had for the 800. Same for the World Champs. That had nothing to do fun with the result."
Do you not think by saying he would win and break the WR is not putting pressure on one self… ? I think it did and only gave encouragement to Fink who actually did set a new World record…. He seemed to also put too much into his semi final heat when a lot less would have gained the same result which was to make the final…. He didn't seem to have the same energy for the final but overall his performance was great and he will only get better after this….

There are a lot of things we don't want to have in common with right wing Loyalist thuggery and racism is one of them. This is just a case of my enemy's enemy is my friend. This is not 'a good thing' by any stretch of the imagination.

I don't think it puts pressure on a guy like Wiffen. He came 1st and 3rd, and his external reaction was similar in both instances.

I'd say the turbulence to his routine last week had more of a negative impact. This is a chap who goes to bed every night at half 9. Stayed up all night after winning gold, and probably had more media attention in 3 days than he's had in a lifetime. I see these factors having more impact on performance than a few words uttered off the top of his head to the media.

Silly example as the same applies with two men, they fight on the street they get arrested they fight in a controlled environment and it's called boxing, the sport has been about for centuries so hardly a point worth making.

As for the fighter you're referring to, she was born a woman, grew up as a woman and here's the key point, she's lost 9 times to female boxers. If this was any sort of ranked male boxer competing in the women's ranks there would be no losses on that record, simple. Maybe do a bit of research before flying off the handles with uninformed rants like that.

Kellie Harrington fighting for history today, she has the chance of becoming the first Irish female Athlete at the Olympics to win back to back Gold medals.

Pretty incredible

According to the experts, she was on the tougher side of the draw on her way to the final, so hopefully her Chinese opponent will find it hard work from the start.

Kellie let out a lot of raw emotion after her semifinal battle, I hope she still has plenty in the tank, her opponent breezed through her own semifinal, fingers crossed that Kellie has the battled hardened experience to see her through

A lot of this 'story' seems to relate to the IBA trying to recover some limelight and tentpee the IOC, after their relegation from boxing responsibilities at the olympics.
