Draws For Tickets

Replying To Seanfanbocht:  "Didn't Armagh give every Club, big or small, the same number?"
Not sure about Armagh, but I think Galway gave each club 100 tickets each, maybe thats based on them having 80 clubs in the County.

However that is what the County board decided to do with allocated tickets, I heard a few years ago that the GAA Central council initially allocate tickets the two finalist Counties based on Adult Club membership and season ticket holders. With addtional tickets released after this.

Having a couple of times done the arduous task of going door-to-door selling tickets for a local fund raiser, I never had and never will have any issue whatsoever with a club raffling off their tickets as a fundraiser.
It needs to be above board to avoid a repeat of the Louth referees debacle.

Replying To Commodore:  "Are All Ireland final tickets not initially allocated to Clubs by the GAA based on the number of registered/paid members that year? In which case every paid member should be entitled to a ticket."
Certainly in 2014 that was the case but I thought I read that Armagh clubs were all given the same amount, open to correction. we also used the points system for where the tickets were for

It is a complicated scenario, people always harp on about u-12 coaches for example in this thread. Sure that depends on what club you are from, there are people who volunteer in small clubs like mine their whole lives yet never produce county players. Their volunteering has made little difference to the county success. If my club shut down Derry would still be 2 in a row Ulster champions.

Anyway all the ticket bickering we see every year puts me off sport in general, it makes me glad GAA is only a casual interest of mine. It isn't something I would want to be involved with on a daily basis as people in the organisation are very bitter towards the average Joe casual fan.
