Think there are around 10 of them selecting it. They got sponsorship for it also.

Shelmaliers v Gusserane
St James' v HWH Bunclody
Naomh Éanna v Sarsfields

The top game on Friday in the Park not sure if its on Wexford TV but I would have though that combining this with say the Annes v CB on Sunday may have dragged a few more to the game. Hard one to call but should be an entertaining game as both will go out and attack. Shels to shade it.
James I think will get the result over Bunclody
Gorey will know that if they win the game they are most likely safe and then can concentrate on the Hurling. Harriers still in the hurling won't be helping the Sarsfields. Gorey for me in this one.

Glynn-Barntown v Starlights
Castletown v Kilanerin
St Anne's v Crossabeg-Ballymurn

Top game here is obvious. If Kilanerin lose this one, their last game is against St Annes and depending on their game it could be a decider as to who is in the relegation final - hard to believe. I think Castletown will just scrape through. Glynn and CB for me get the other wins.

Shelmaliers v Gusserane
This one to decide top spot, Gusserane have performed well so far albeit against 3 of the weaker senior teams but shels have not hit their usual high standards yet. Shels by 2

St James' v HWH Bunclody
James' struggling compared to other years and bunclody had a good result against shels. A low scoring draw here

Naomh Éanna v Sarsfields
Naomh Eanna have the potential to be very good and seem to be improving since the heavy opening loss. Sars don't have enough scoring power to challenge most teams. Naomh Eanna by 4

Castletown v Kilanerin
Tie of the weekend. This will be a cracker, neither team have been full strength yet but I have a feeling they are both close for this weekend. Castletown still have the firepower without brosnan and are very well structured defensively as always. Kilanerin have not been the same team as last year but have been without so many key players, mainly in attack. They won't want the pressure of having to beat the annes in the last week to progress (which they will) but I have a feeling that maybe all the players who are just back might still be a bit rusty and lack match fitness so I will say Castletown by 3.

Crossabeg V St Annes
I have been very impressed with what I saw from crossabeg and would gave them as dark horses after the top 4 teams. Annes have been poor and I can't see that being turned around so Crossabeg by 7

Glynn Barntown v starlights
Barntown have been excellent and really look like the top 4 side we always thought they would be. Play good football and defensively well set up, Starlights have been very poor and missing lots of players so I don't see them being a problem and Barntown men will win by 7 or 8 to secure a top 2 spot

Interesting how most of the dual clubs seem to be doing worse in one code or the other?

Shels v Gusserane: Both teams capable of winning it Shels by 2
St James v Bunclody: Could be close think could be a draw
Naomh Eanna v Sarsfields: Could be a draw again but will tip Gorey by 1

Anne's v Crossabeg: Crossabeg by 4 but never write the men from Rathangan off.
Glynn Barntown v Starlights: Enniscorthy men are struggling in both codes GB by 3
Kilanerin v Castletown: Castletown to win think they will get motoring from now on in.

Maybe it's time to have a Wexford football committee to look after football in the county. Tipperary already have this and they are a sub committee of the county board. They have a fairly decent club scene there aswell, Clonmel etc are top club teams.

There already is one. They just don't seem to be as active or vociferous as the hurling one.

Do you think if the football advisory committee came up with an idea that in any way could or potentially would interfere with hurling that it would get any.traction or backing .
No chance .
You could judge it by if it got backing it would definitely be a bad idea in the first place and if adopted altered for hurling it was a good idea for hurling .
I'd say any idea brought forward by HAC that could harm football would get more traction and backing .
There are as many totally dedicated football men.
But the negativity around it at present does nt help . I'm sure they have ideas but know full well they have to pick their battles. In fact I d gave more admiration fir them as they are fighting on every corner to improve the game and the foundations .
Does anyone believe that if our best underage players were picking football and having a degree of success over hurling that the (you can only play for one academy code as long as its hurling) . That rule would be left in place .
Think we live in sad times that being a dual player is getting less accommodated inc by outside managers at club level .

Actually, and in fairness, it just occurs to me that if they hadn't come up with the proposal for this year's hurling championships format, I'm not sure too many people could answer the question "what exactly have the Hurling Advisory Committee done in the past few years?" either.

Could well be the case that the Football Committee people are doing just as much unheralded work in the background as the Hurling Committee might be doing. I could have been unfair to them by saying they don't seem as active.

Honestly think for football to improve in the county we need to go to senior A and B. A shortened championship and a higher standard. Would still give the top two teams in senior b an oppportunity to get into the senior A championship.Im sure less football games would get the backing, but they would probably play more hurling games then.

Are Kilanerin getting anyone back? Will surely have to risk a few this weekend or could be all but gone out of the championship

The big problem is that there aren't actually as many dedicated football men as hurling men, though there are many good Football men in the county. That and the fact that Football doesn't have the same public support in the county as hurling either.

I think it's more the latter . But the hurling men would nt exactly be encouraging any football resurgence.
They would rather it rode off into the sunset . That's why I admire the football men as the gave to fight at at every corner . Where hurling is stronger in wexford there are too many other counties are the opposite .I'm sure the hurling men in other counties fight as hard there too .
Hard to see hurling growing elsewhere in lesser counties when there is this growing attitude to concentrate wholelly on one or the other .
Getting to the stage where either codes managers would prefer if lads played other sports instead of the other code . Sad but true

Less football games, unreal, lads play 6 or 7 games a year and you want less
