Both have knee injuries that need managing

Alot of inter county hurlers in other counties don't play club football. Might be a road we need go down.

Very few do tbh. The Mcgraths from Tipp are probably the exception that proves your theory. Very few intercounty hurlers play top level club football in other counties these days.

Replying To WexMurph:  "Martins v Fethard: Would expect Martins to be favourites but will be looking towards the hurling I'm sure and none of there bigger hurlers will play. Fethard will be dogged and will be hard bet. Could be close but Martins have to much running and will win by 3 even without there big players.

Gusserane v Castletown: Two good attacking teams in the final. Some very good footballers all over the field. If Coleman is out will be a big loss to Castletown but still fancy then to win by the minimum. Hopefully a good open game in store.

Inter A: Duffry
Junior: Castletown"

Especially when players are coming to the end of their careers. Dee, Liam Og the same can't blame them really. Although they played for years and didn't seem to to them any harm.

They will be OK that way. They lost this one. They only fell out when they won.

Ah lads, given our inter county hurlers have made one AI semi final in about 20 years it isn't exactly fatigue holding them back playing club football. Might do them good.

Some win for Fethard today. After a really bad start, completely outplayed Martins who collapsed really. A lot of criticism of referees but I thought the ref today did well in tricky conditions. Spotted silly third man tackles and nearly every free was hard won.

The end of the split season has seen more of them play which is good to see.

Oylegate an example, have done nothing in football at adult level despite bejng very good underage for a number of years winning junior yesterday. Martins were going for a double and we know the fiasco with fethard.

Duffry still in both, even further down the likes of Davidstown again who ha e done nothing in football look favourite to win junior a.

Yesterday I was really impressed with how Fethard controlled the game and kept the Martins at arms length. There's something about Fethard when they get to crunch games, it would be a brave man to bet against them.

An unbelievably gutsy performance from Castletown, especially in the second half. Tackled like demons and had some work-rate playing with a player less. Scrappy game but shut down Gusserane's vaunted attackers (didn't score from play) and stymied Sheehan's runs up the field too. Hard to know what Gusserane were at not pumping ball inside more given they had the man advantage, but Castletown were so ravanous they probably wouldn't have created much either way.

Thought Higgins was excellent for the winners and is perhaps in the top 10 best players across both codes on the club scene at the minute. Heffernan pushed him very close for MOTM too, and just collectively the team display far outshone Gusserane.

Mad to think that last year the shoe was on the other foot- Castletown had the extra man for the whole match and lost by an injury-time point, with today's centre-back and captain Colin Kennedy a huge loss in the middle (and questionable referring decisions). Could conceivably have three-in-a-row, but happy with 2 outta 3.

How does the end of the split season see more intercounty hurlers play? Bizarre statement!

Was hoping Gusserane would win, but Castletown were deserved winners. They were braver in possession, and fought harder when they didn't have the ball. Excellent footballing side hopefully they go well again in Leinster!

Awful game, Gusserane just seemed to have no plan to break down the Castletown defensive structure. Don't think Castletown will make much impact in Leinster. Hope im wrong.

Well done to Castletown but by God that was terrible stuff the standard of football in this county is at an all time low. But Castletown won't mind tonight

Who is Higgins? Top 10 players across both codes?
