This is to find out the strongest overall province in 2024. It is based on the N.F.L tables. Finals winners are ranked first in their division. Relegated teams are ranked above promoted teams. Roscommon and Monaghan 7 +8 in Division 1 are ranked in those positions. Points given are from 1 for Division 1 winners Derry down to 32 for Waterford who finished bottom of Division 4. edu (Mayo) - Posts: 62 - 13/06/2024 11:18:47 2551152 Link 0 |
And maybe use this for AIC KO entry point - Uls Champ to AIC SFs; Conn to QFs; and Lein/Muns to Prelim QFs (based on most recent league ranking). omahant (USA) - Posts: 2886 - 13/06/2024 12:41:36 2551178 Link 0 |
Surely the fact that a Div 2 team proved to be the strongest team in the country last year pokes fun at your rankings?

Not really - just enter the AI Series earlier to offset easy Lein route.

I'm just not sure using league positions to rank the relative strength of teams for championship is accurate. For the likes of Dublin and Kerry entering the knockout stages a round earlier would be welcomed by those teams, it would give them more certainty as to when to move towards peaking than the uncertainty of the group format. If Dublin knew from way-back that they had a q/f knock-out game or even a preliminary QF on a decided date, they would love that.

Championship rankings 1 to 32 should be based on championship stage reached and then league placing. legendzxix (Kerry) - Posts: 8282 - 14/06/2024 11:58:49 2551388 Link 3 |
I like that.

I'd like to use your ranking system for seeding QFs & SFs of the new proposed 16-team AIC 'double chance' format, with a team's "seeding score" based on their "opponents' average strength" following an Open Draw in Rds 1, 2A/2B & 3. Example, if Monaghan got to a QF after 'unluckily' drawing and beating Dublin & Kerry (avg seed of 1.5) in Rds 1 & 2, then they would face the team with the highest/weakest average of the other 7 teams in the AIC QFs (and SFs). omahant (USA) - Posts: 2886 - 15/06/2024 01:01:41 2551527 Link 0 |
