I was really looking forward to watching this match.

But this is god awful.

2 of the best 3 analysts on the Sunday game for the Kerry/Derry match and the 3rd Co-commentator. If this was Brolly he'd be making fun of the players.

Like watching paint try. This is modern football though. As Canavan said admiringly about Derry, they're clogging up the middle. Kerry are breaking too slowly when they turn the ball over. Derry again busting the myth about back to back games disadvantaging teams. They're on a roll.

Hopefully the second half is better!

Yet the same people watch soccer with their back and side passing.

Hard to believe we were witnessing two All Ireland quarter finals today.

Two very very poor spectacles.

Players allowed to walk around soloing the ball and no player near them.

Snorefests.

Most of us have a vested interest in football due to county rivalries, but if you didn't, my God it's boring. More excitement in 5 mins of Germany Denmark than the whole of Kerry Derry.

Well that was some letdown.

Maybe if Derry had scored that goal after 30 seconds, a game might have broke out.

Shows how hard it's to go three weeks in a row and have anything in the tank for the final quarter.

Makes what Galway did all the more impressive.

The atmosphere in all quarter finals bar Galways second half comeback was absolutely dead. Crowd had nothing to shout about. Football in big trouble.

Some flat game that, just awful. Derry were a big let down, well done to Kerry.

If the mark of a good team is to grind out a win when playing badly, then Kerry were absolutely brilliant today. Derry did little to win over the neutrals (which obviously they were under no obligation to do) but once Kerry eked out the four point lead and Derry were forced to come out of their defense and play football, they had nothing to offer.

I will say the commentators announcing Kerry as predetermined AI winners as the final whistle blew was bloody annoying. The deference this team gets from pundits is tiresome.

Derry peaked in February.

One of the worst games of football I have ever witnessed. The ground was totally dead. It's a long journey now after that. Mickey Harte was brought in to take this team to the next level. He has been an absolute disaster in Championship. Out with a whimper. 4 losses in 6.

Congratulations to Kerry on the victory. The better team won. The All Ireland is pretty open but Kerry are rightly favourites.

I was wondering about that YT. At least watching the games here on the box at times it feels like the stadium is empty. Is that a result of how sound is picked up by the placement of mics, or can anyone at the games confirm they're a bit dead?

Kerry are very defensive. Is tally still with them? That quarter final was one of the worst games I ever saw

I'd agree with you, but only because I think both sports are tedious. I say that as one who barely watches soccer because it's always bored me, whereas football never did but with their lateral passing around the middle third, back-passing frees and probing around the wings, both sports now mirror each other.
