That makes more sense.

Hear Hear, if that game doesn't wake the GAA out of its stupor, wrt the state gaelic football, nothing will.

Replying To shaggykev:  "I think it will be Dublin v Galway and Armagh v Roscommon on Saturday and Donegal v Louth and Derry v Kerry on Sunday.

Louth surely cannot play Saturday and Derry on last Saturday night might buy them the extra days grace.
I'd say though Galway would love one extra day too.

Very unfair on Galway to have to face Dublin with a week turnaround time with their injuries piling up. A two week break and fresher legs would make for a better match. Fear is Dublin could steamroll them late on."
True, it's a disgrace the way they are rushing through the Championship, should be 2 week gap between games at least.
If Galway were going in fresh I'd give them a decent chance, as it is they will likely run out of steam.
Derry will give Kerry their fill of it too but again they will likely run out of steam,
totally unfair for players who give their whole lives to the cause.
Lucky we are being let play in Croke park at all I suppose these days when there are no concerts scheduled.

There were very exciting games over the weekend including the Sligo/Down TC semi final. Was talking to someone who was in Inniskeen - admittedly shouting for the other team in red - and he thought it was great game to watch. Certainly didn't lack excitement.

Games get better as there is something on the line.

Over the weekend I watched Kerry-Derry minor, Tyrone-Roscommon, Mayo- Derry on Saturday and the two tailteann cup semis on Sunday and all five were entertaining and only one that wasn't a tight game results wise. I believe the worst game on the planet this year was Scotland/Hungary in the euros, lucky I missed it ,LOL.

I've a feeling Louth and Derry will get the Sunday games so that will probably decide the fixtures.

If your mate can get to Tuam or athenry he may be able to get on the city link buses that go to/from Castlebar to Dublin. Those buses go via the M17/M6 and stop in Tuam and Athenry. Just an option to think about.

Regardless of the fact it's Galway I've always maintained a Saturday evening game in Dublin suits no-one bar the few counties an easy drive to and from. It's past time the GAA saw sense on this. Combined with the rushed feeling of this years championship it really is doing a disservice to the fans.

They have to get all the 'gah' out of the way before the rest of the stuff kicks in.

Gas to hear Burns - who i mostly admire - respond to a question about restoring the finals to September with the usual "won't someone think of the Junior Bs" spiel.

We have a generation growing up for whom GAA will be peripheral seasonal part of a "new Ireland."

Crazy stuff from HQ with no consideration of anyone outside of Dublin.

How about the Donegal fans having to be in Dublin for a 1.15 throw in on Sunday? that's a very early start for us and all so as RTE can have the games finished in time to show their beloved soccer on Sunday evening. Not much thought given to the fans is there?
Of course Saturdays games are behind a paywall, more money for Jarlath and the gang.
This whole thing is rushed and it's a joke teams aren't getting at least a 2 week break between games at this stage anyway, these football quarter finals should be on over 2 weekends, both Sunday double headers and on free to air tv.
