Replying To S1234:  "Wonder why a Galway one supporting derry over mayo hmm.."
Judging by bar in Hyde before match there was little support from either your own crowd or Rossies for fellow Connacht men.

Replying To Joxer:  "You gotta fancy Mayo if they can bring the intensity that they did on Sun. I think Castlebar may swing it for them. But it's a potential banana skin. If Derry bring their A game and have their shooting boots on then it could go pear shaped for Mayo. They have to be on it. This game and Louth v Cork should be very interesting."
Now Joxer you've used the biggest IF in the world.
Which Mayo shows up is anyone's guess.
From here on out it's lose and go home till next year.
I'm hoping Mayo gets one more shot at Dublin this year.

Derry are a busted flush, for this year at any rate, they look like they are running on fumes. Form can't be switched on and off like a tap. Mayo have great form and confidence going in to this one and with a big partisan crowd in castlebar I think they'll win pulling up

Heard some 'stat' correct me if im wrong because im far too lazy to flick though 25 wiki pages but a lad told me since 2000 or maybe 2001 the team that knocked Mayo out of the championship went on to lift sam (except Kildare in newbridge)

wee omen for Derry :)

Derry seemed to put everything into the League, not giving Glen lads a break etc.
They were already in the final when they played Ros but still put out their strongest team.

Yes that didn't seem to make a lot of sense… they look to be running on fumes at this stage…

Don't think giving an opinion that a particular team will win means that the individual supports that team. Most Galway GAA people that I know want Mayo to win. Oh that the sentiment was reciprocated...but no chance.

Yup made exact same mistake we did last year.. League means nothing championship shows how good you are or not.

It's the two game ban they are appealing. He has already served one game.

That stat starts from 2012.

Lol most Galway people most certainly do not want Mayo to win anything. We are the most hated county in Connacht. Nobody wants to see their neighbour's doing well. It's like club football.

It's true from 2012 on not 2000.

Considering the amount of finals/semi-finals they've made, it makes perfect sense.

In anyways, Derry look a rabble at the moment. Mayo will breeze through them imo. 8/9 points win, comfortable.

Can Monaghan and Roscommon be discounted in knockout football? Both have nothing to lose in causing an upset.

Well nobody in Connaght likes us either, But yes I never shout for Mayo and don't want Mayo to win anything. Its the norm around the province.
