Replying To Grey_Wolf:  "I remember being in Quinns in 2006, toppin spot in the day. That and the Hideout were nice luxury establishments, just my type of place. Where are the good places now near Croker? Heading up Saturday, gonna let down the mowing arm... I have a debit card with more money than JP McManus ready to go and I drink real fast even when Leitrim loose."
If you have a credit card with more money than JP, then let us all know where we are to be and when.

Cusacks on north strand is a great spot..it's a 5 minute walk from Connolly station and 10 mins to croke park..very friendly staff and can cope with whatever crowd shows up.

A fine boozer. You have a good taste.

Clonliffe House also a good option on match days.

a lot of meath fans usually go to phil ryans just because its down the road from bus stops in from the Royal Plains. its a fairly shook spot but seems to be a fan favourite of meath for the annual penance v the dubs. mad to see how likes of Lietrim and Down fans delighted with the game in croke park this weekend and for most leinster football counties were sick of the place and the charade of the leinster championship

Back in the 70s Quinns was known as McGoverns and was a fine pub. Well run and always packed even during the week. Don't know what happened later as I left Dublin in the early 80s and only visited a few times when it was Quinns. Seeing all those pubs mentioned making me feel nostalgia for Dublin. Well almost !!

Have a gra for The Old Stand, The Stags Head, The Long Haul and Slatterys in Rathmines. I also have a gra to be as young again as I was when I spent my youth (and money) in them.

Clonliffe "beer garden" was great place. Might still be but haven't been in for years since pre-match movements changed and most of those I used to to attend with have passed on.

Auld Triangle on other side is good spot. Gills was great but more so on less busy days when you would get a seat inside. Seems to be closed for good now.

I never liked Quinns. Being close to Hogan and Hill was the only thing it had going for it.

What an absolute kip. Went to it once on a match day but never again. Just fluked it that their location was on the route to Croker. Fagan's is a really good pub a few minutes walk away.

The last time I was in Quinn's was about 20 years ago, I asked where toilets were; told to follow my nose. Unfortunately, great directions.

Dump. Cat and Cage, Fagans and McGraths much better. What is the Offaly pub beside Fagans?

Fagan's is grand for a good pint, grub, a good place to bring the wife and kids before the match, very civilised. Quinns was an awful dive no doubt. The front bar wasn't too bad though. Ya might meet the uncle or auntie in there on matchday to collect a ticket but never let them near the mayhem at the back. We're maybe past our 20s most of us here now but when you're young being foolish is the job, going with craic and not being bothered by left handed pints, manky carpets, and eating nothing but a burger and a Mars bar since breakfast and a feed of pints because eating was cheating. We have a different standard now we're a bit older. Flannerys in is hard to beat any day of the week but especially on match weekends.
