Replying To Analyst:  "Crazy decision, even if you are a so called weaker team at least you have an even structure across groups, take the Bracks. Got a very tough draw in the last two years. If done we would see
Pot 1 Dunshaughlin, Dunboyne, Skryne, Tones
Pot 2 Ratoath, Simonstown, Summerhill, Cilles
Pot 3 Kells, Don Ash, Na Fianna, Trim
Pot 4 Bracks, Meath hill, Seneschalstown. Rathkenny"
I'm sick and tired off listening to people saying the bracks have been stitched up with draws in recent years. Yes they've had tough groups but in relegation this year they couldn't beat kells or rathkenny. What makes people think they'd get out of any other group?

It's similar to how "unfair" our relegation system supposedly is. We're told that the 8 team playoff system results in good teams getting relegated but if anything it's the opposite.

In order to get relegated a team has to lose at least 4 games out of 6. This includes 3 successive relegation playoffs in which your opponent in each round gets weaker and weaker.

The team which gets relegated will have gone into 3 or 4 games knowing that a single win will guarantee survival, but they failed on every occasion. That team is clearly the most suitable team to relegate.

Logic would say you are correct but in reality it doesn't work that way. Dunsaughlin were relegated a couple of years ago they shouldn't have been as there were worse teams. Moynalvy only missed out on the quarter finals last year finished 3rd in the group beating Skryne. Then were beaten by Skryne in the relegation game and went down. It's a long drawn one process and teams lose players and form. There needed to be some benefit in finishing 3rd in the group

You are right.

Without seeding it now means poor teams will survive in senior for years by fluking a win or getting a lucky group trying just to get third. The CB, or clubs that pushed it, will make the standard lower.

Definitely think a 12 team senior championship would be a better competition. Would definitely improve the chances of dead rubber games. Works well in Louth and Westmeath.

Every team guaranteed at least 6 championship games a year.

2 groups of 6.

Top 4 in each group go through to quarter finals.

1. Winner A v 4th spot B. 2. Winner B v 4th Spot A.
3. Runner up A v 3rd Spot B. 4. Runner up B v 3rd spot A.

Semi Finals 1 V 4 - 2 V 3

Relegation Semi Finals

5th A v 6th B.
5th B v 6th A.

Lets face it, clubs are bleeding young lads to emigration each year and I'm guessing in another 10 years at best the smaller less populated clubs will either have to amalgamate or just drop down the grades as the seasons progress.
Clubs closer to the towns of Navan , Ashbourne , Trim & Kells will probably pick up lads to keep status but the very rural clubs wont.
