Replying To loyalroyal27:  "This young Dunshaughlin team have already proven themselves against the best teams in Meath. St Lomans are a defensive team, like Wolf Tonnes (WT). They would have beaten WT by a greater margin if the weather was better. PT is a big wide pitch and I expect them to win by 3/4 points"
Strange statement, was it not the bad weather that led to their fortunate goal ? , they have been very good in meath championship but were outplayed in 3 of their 6 matches. Lomans remember have a lot of experience, don't underestimate a team cos they are from Westmeath, Garrycastle that beat Ratoath and Lomans beat Simonstown in last few years. Hopefully Dunshaughlin can use home advantage and get the win, its giving good weather so you should be confident....

Proving you are the best team in Meath doesn't count for much as it is a very weak Championship and seems to be getting worse.
From what I have seen of Dunshaughlin they are a very average team and even with home advantage I can't see them winning on Sunday.

Tones would bate Lomans with one hand tied behind their backs and the other hand drinking a pint of smithwicks

Why are Senior Citizens and students being charged full price into Pairc Tailteann on Sunday?
Why are no tickets on sale at the venue?
Loads of people will arrive on Sunday expecting to be able to purchase tickets at Pairc Tailteann like all the Senior Championship games this year.
Are Meath GAA just going to let the Leinster Council walk all over them and treat our senior citizens in such an awful manner?

The handiest route to a senior championship final of all time they had.

Im not sure why people think that Leinster council are walking all over anyone, Its a Leinster game so Leinster rules, just like any thing now a days, tickets are all on line, even banking so, nothing to see here move on.

Typical reply from someone, who one would suspect could be involved with the County Board, you didn't address my questions. Why are pensioners and students being charged full price?
So disregarding and being disrespectful to the people who would have being the lifeblood of the GAA for 50 years is in your opinion "Nothing to see here move on"?
In other words, pensioners you might have volunteered many hours to the GAA in your lifetime but you can go and shag off now.

Hard luck Dunshaughlin. Totally and utterly outclassed. Unfortunately anyone who knows anything about club football in Meath which clearly you don't would have been expecting this. Meath club football is absolutely light years behind the likes of Westmeath and Kildare.

The mighty Meath champions 2-4 St Lomans blessed to beat The Downs 2-16 in Navan.
Wolfe Tones wouldnt beat Garrycastle the Westmeath intermediate champions.

Replying To Maestro:  "Congratulations Dunshauglin.
Tones threw it away.
I thought Dunshaughlin were very average again today and were very lucky to win it.
Ive seen them play twice this year and they were very poor against Dunboyne also.
They won't care much as they are champions but I think it's the weakest winner in a long time and shows the state of Meath football."
A terrible result in Leinster and was exactly what I expected from watching Dunshaughlin in the last 2 games.
I realise it was their first Keegan cup in a long time but they had 2 weeks to prepare and the game was at home.
This match was over at half time, Dunshaughlin only scored 6 time and conditions were perfect as Lomans showed.
Dunshaughlin are the worst team to win the Meath championship in a long time and that is saying something.
Meath football is at all time low all around.

Hard luck lads, 13 points was close enough in the end! In reality, the downs & maybe kinnegad would have done that to dunshaughlin today!! That's 4 straight victories I think for westmeath clubs over meath ones.... maybe some humility wouldnt go amiss?! (Reading through some of the comments). I do hope meath football will bounce back to where it belongs!!!

It just so bad how bad things are when teams from Westmeath are regularly beating teams from Meath. Enjoy the celebrations.

Reality check, this was Dunshaughlin's first senior in 20 odd years , they naturally celebrated as they should and it being their first title they were never going to compete with an extremely good side in St Lomans. Dunshaughlin won't care really , a bit of perspective would be good for some posters on here

I would understand if they only had a week to prepare then you could use that excuse that they were still celebrating. I remember teams used to get a week and seneschalstown had 3 or 4 days one year.
The truth is they are an average team and the fact that a very poor tones team should have bet them says it all.

More excuses for the shambles we have become.

Tinahely won their first Wicklow SFC in 40 years yet could turn up today and beat Portarlington in Laois.

Anyone who expected dunshauglin to win that game today was rather foolish. This is the same team who couldn't win the leinster intermediate championship 2 or 3 years ago and some thought they had a chance to beat a team like Lomans.

When Lomans scraped past simonstown a few years back by a couple of points there was a lot of criticism on here of the standard of our championship. Lomans somehow then gave up a 6 point lead with 6 minutes to go in the leinster final. They were robbed. The standard of our championship must not have been too bad that year after all hey!?

The south meath brigade won't like it but this was the worst standard of club football ever in this county, there was a comment earlier after dunshaughlin won the county championship that its good for meath football that if big south meath clubs start to dominate! Sure doesn't look that way

Lomans are better side than Portarlington by a distance, very negative, st Marys Ardee , Lomans, Naas are all serious club sides
