Replying To Overthebar53:  "Well said pat. They introduced the strong arm stuff but don't like it now that it doesn't suit them. Eddie keher has been their go to man lately for the pre match advice/warning to the officials on how to ref it. Also DAIRE in fairness to kerry they compete at the hurling and their club championship is very competitive whereas the cats make no effort whatsoever."
Make no effort at what?

Replying To PatOLogical:  "Score pre throw-in:
Kilkenny 0-8 Limerick 0-0

Same as last few years ..
Limerick will start every game 8 points down plus or minus , except for All- Ireland final 2023 when we won by 9 points due to 1st decent ref.. John Keenan. ( the benchmark) James Owens (today) goes missing a lot.

Looks like Limerick are still viewed as intruders in the parlor of the big three and a few more now. .. Long may it continue
PS Kilkenny's strong-arm tactics have just about become acceptable and justifiable via the mantra of recently departed manager: "It's a man's game" or "let the game flow". .. all disguised prompts for the ref to "keep the whistle in your while we play over the edge" approach. This was usually fed to media in the week before the game through recently retired hero's and icons of the black and amber, not by "the man" himself.

Kilkenny also need. to learn to behave themselves."
A Limerick man complaining about being decisions against them and strong arm tactics. Pot kettle lad.

Limerick play a fast physical game . Kilkenny walk onto the field with a license to maim and assume an astonished look if the ref dares to blow (legacy of theCody doctrine) . That's the difference. Fog brain lad. Stick to the big ball, worst case scenario you'll enjoy some scenic trips around the country even if the cupboard remains bare.

Thanks Carlow man: Mr Cody was a master tactician off the field also. Eddie was was the the first man out in the spin machine an d followed by the likes of Charlie Carter and the great DJ himself. Same message, differnent voices before every game, ,all for thep purpose of muting the ref.: "Let it flow", It's a man's game", Who could question these icons? . Seems like sauce for the goose is not acceptablelas sauce for the gander now though.

Peter Casey -yes - red card. Watch it back - Peter reacted to a punch n the kidneys by Deegan which the ref missed. No surprise there, it's Limerick. Commentators would say "there was nottin in it"- the punch to the kidneys by Deegan.
You probably did not feel that either, why would you ? sitting in your soft seat or on your sofa or behind your pint.
The whole problem here again is Limerick don't belong at the top table.. Get used to it.
Happy to comment.

Limerick over the past few years have played some of the best stuff we have ever seen with some of the best players we have ever seen, no doubt about that. But they have also got away with the most stuff in that period of time. Sneaky fouls, hurl flicks across the body and hands going unpunished. Off the ball fouls unpunished.

I am not knocking them for it by the way. You push the boundaries as much as you can and if you get away with it then so be it. But it's absolutely laughable that Limerick supporters on here and on social media would complain about another team. Nice pop at Mayo there lad, very mature. Big coincidence with JP money and success i suppose. Sure ye were winning everything before his money came in............

The flanker,I wouldn't take much notice of that limerick poster..he's looking very much through green coloured glasses..Casey did get a belt but reacted in a way that deserved a red..watching other semi and fellas are getting away with more things than last night..conlan probably should have got a 2nd yellow, maybes black card..lohan might have got red for the one handed pull to the helmet..Maher got away with a challange worse than what Cody was sent off for..watching our boys last night,we need everyone at the back especially..good to see seanie back even though he struggle but no more so than at others bar cahal o neill..the battle in Ennis in a couple of weeks will make or break both counties season I think..

I don't think the match in Ennis in 4 weeks time will necessarily 'make or break both counties season'. A top 3 place will get you through to the AI Championship.
Clare lost in Ennis to Tipp last year in Round 1 of the Munster Championship and went on to finish top of the group.

Comments here are getting a little silly. JP has been around a long long time and became the official single sponsor way back in 2004. No one was saying back then his money was responsible for buying success.

In relation to the knocks and fouls I think most give as good as they get. I will say I honestly think Hego is reffed differently, the man never goes to ground when fouled or pulled as very few are strong enough but he should still get his free if someone pulls or drags him. The opposition crowd will be foaming at the mouth if he comes back with a third of the punishment he takes and the refs will react to this too as do the pundits and the media. Opposition will disagree with this but this is honestly how I see it after years of seeing him in live action. I honestly think this treatment got to him last year.
