Wee question lockjaw when is championship prediction starting. I'm a championship man when the days get longer I come into my own." With league positions now being linked to Championship you'll have to go into the Tailteann Cup.

All to play for going into the league finals this weekend. I would say that anyone north of 120 points is still in with a good chance. Look out for the "League Finals Prediction Thread" for additional points on offer.

Fair play to you Lockjaw you're playing a stormer with this.
I'll re-iterate a request from last year to the Hoganstand Admin to respectfully ask them to give you and a few family members/friends box tickets to a big game in Croker for all the work you have done. If the AI Final is a bit of a stretch, perhaps next Sundays Division 1 and 2 league finals might be possible?
Given the enjoyment around this competition you have created it's the very least you deserve.

Hopefully it will work out for you this year Lockjaw as you deserve it.

Are you family or a friend?" Lockjaw has put in a lot of hours in running draws for the league and championship on the Hogan Stand over the last couple of years. (All four divisions). You might not appreciate it but a lot of us do.

Replying To rorysboys: "I take it you must be leading the table" It's nothing to do with who's leading the table (you won't have to worry about it anyway) it's about trying to get the poster who organised a competition enjoyed by all something back in return.

It shortens the spring and what I like best is that it means our wee HS population pay a bit more attention to our teams and divisions that they might not ordinarily pay much heed of. Some great work being done across the divisions. e.g. Andy Moran getting Leitrim up to Div 3 and a league final to look forward to. Although I'd imagine the good GAA folks in Wexford are mightily aggrieved today after they suffered from a terrible refereeing decision when they played Leitrim a few weeks back. It ended up costing them promotion.
In Division 3 Westmeath and Down have been the standout teams although Clare deserve great kudos for their spring time performances. I thought they might slide back a bit after Collins stepped away and a few players retired. But not a bit of it, they just got on with things and consolidated their position as a good solid team. Other more "traditional" footballing counties should take note. Shout out to Sligo too. Stready improvement. Hopefully their recent u21 teams will further bring them along.
In Division 2 Donegal and Armagh were clearly the strongest teams and fully deserved their promotions. It's hard to fathom who badly things have gotten with Kildare. But as we've seen in Donegal, things can quickly change if the right people are involved behind the scenes and everyone is pulling in the same direction. Meath, Cork and Cavan might feel relieved yet a bit disappointed that they didn't challenge more seriously for promotion. Louth continued their good work of recent times in spite of losing Mickey Harte, and Fermanagh were perhaps a bit unfortunate to be relegated after showing some serious steel and ability.
Division 1 is a funny one in that other than Derry and Dublin, maybe the other teams weren't all that bothered about it once it became evident they weren't going to be relegated. Monaghan have memorably escaped the trap door on a few occasions in recent years but it was beyond them this time. Roscommon slipped down as well, and it will be interesting to see how they regroup for Championship because they can be awkward opponents for anyone on their day. Galway and Mayo will be happy to have stayed up but will know that vast improvement is needed in the weeks ahead. Tyrone in the same boat. Kerry are Kerry, yerrra they'll get things going up a few notches in the weeks and months ahead nothing surer.
Dublin for me are the apex predator, nothing really enlightening about that statement I know. But they are the team everyone will be looking to take down. Easier said than done.

Maybe Rorysboys, Cockneycat and that lad Westofthewest who was critical earlier in the year will organise next years one? Doubt any of them will though.

Thanks Lockjaw!

I don't think they'd have the grey matter necessary for the task, I will add to the request to the admins of Hoganstand if they can somehow get tickets for Lockjaw to a big game and why not the All Ireland final to do it if possible? This thread is great and it keeps us all more interested in the other divisions were our own county isn't playing.
