Well the green bin was for hard plastics, etc. The brown bin was for food waste!

From 10 million watts of power it generates on a solar farm in North County Dublin, ot the 900 cubic metres of water it will collect at its harvesting facility at the old handball alley at Croke Park, the GAA is well on its way to net zero emissions by 2050.

Sure I'm still not convinced that used paper towels are compostable!

Replying To zinny:  "In the wider scheme of things using public transport is far better then cars the problem is that we spent billions on roads and sweet nothing on building an efficient public transport system - everyone wanted their car and their motorway. Croke Park cannot be blamed for choices of others. Each organization and individual have to make their own choices - the excuse that as an individual your contribution wouldn't make a difference is a cop out for not taking responsibility for the problems that you have created. There are big problems that need to be solved but it starts with individuals taking personal responsibility and then creating the change the whole way up along the line."
Would part of that change involve forgoing travel and watching the games at home?

No it doesn't mean that - what it means is that if you are going you reduce as much as possible the impact - which would be for a start taking public transport or a bus. At least Croke Park is making the effort to eliminate the impact of hosting the games - I am sure there is more they can do but most of the rest is now up to you.
Its like the recycle bins - what do more to people need - the bins are there and its the responsibility of each individual to use them correctly.

They'll probably up the ticket prices because of it, like our government when it comes to green charges

Will the stadium be upgraded for the American football? It's badly needing some investment even the seats have faded

€12m has been spent upgrading facilities in the Cusack Stand and replacing the lower tier seats in all stands.

Don't be codding yourself, At the rear of the Cusack stand where it meets the Canal end behind the blue cowling there is a massive diesel generator that runs on match day. I was at Roscommon Armagh and Dublin Galway game last year and the fumes behind the stand at half time would poison you. 12M recently spent on new plastic seats, what is the carbon footprint of that? All the traffic jams it causes on match day and people travelling to the stadium in cars, how much does that generate? It's a farce, there is no such thing as a carbon neutral stadium.

We should be respectful of planet and learn new ways to do so. However every alternative is seen as a way to get rich by someone and that is okay also in a free society. However false information and lies are given about the effects of some of these green initiatives. I have been to the dump where a dozen bulldozers is burying the blades of turbines because carbon fibre cannot be recycled. Hundreds of acres of jungle taken out a day for battery production material. Fracking causing earthquakes but propaganda explaining alternative cause. We must keep trying but keep control on the cons like Musk.

It's a joke. Like you aren't allowed spray round up where the lines on the pitches go, but you can cover your 2 acre carpark in it!

These people found an innovative way to repurpose turbine blades without scrapping them. The planet savers should be advising people on buying less and reducing waste but there's less VAT returns in that.
