Replying To MachaireConnacht:  "As do every county's supporters including Donegal, I don't remember Donegal attracting the same numbers last year. Noticeable drop off in Mayo support after the last two years. It's just the way it is, no county is any different. The All Ireland finals would never be a sell out if it wasn't for the bandwagon."
The mess Donegal was in the last few years you couldn't blame people for not going, it was so boring the way we were playing, people have better things to do with their money and time than watch fellas passing over and backways with no real end product, thankfully now we are playing attractive attacking football again and reaping the rewards of it too.
I think Donegal V Galway is going to be a great atmosphere, hope the game is a real high scoring cracker.

Ye love to use the word bandwagon to dismiss some sectors of your own fan base. Why? No body checks a list as you enter the ground and if you haven't attended "x" amount of games or specific games before big games that they can't go into the ground.
Lose the attitude.

Huge difference in Donegal this year, most improved team in the championship…racking up big scores and good to watch. Last Saturday will be a huge boost to Galway football and they will fear no one going forward. Every county has a hard core following but success and going deep in the championship brings the fans out in big numbers. Expect both the hurling and football finals to be a sell out, neutral fans used to pick up tickets for finals but nowadays you find the participating counties just can't get enough of them…all part of the buzz of getting to a final.

Replying To Rebel2020:  "I predict Kerry v Armagh (even factoring in Laois v Down) won't break 35,000."
Nonsense. Armagh will bring close to 35k on their own.

His point could be right though, it still mightn't break 35k.

Both double headers attracted around same crowd last weekend.

Really really poor form from the Jacks - what has happened their support? It's actually quite embarrassing for them.

Game on the doorstep - ample public transport etc.

This is dangerous territory for the rest of us again now as the government and gaa will most likely start pumping millions back into them again to generate the interest similar to last time round.

No more tickets for Cork Limerick online available. Heading towards sell out. Wow...thats impressive

Only twice since 2010 has the semi final in hurling been over 70k. Both times involving Cork.
Average hurling attendace 52,815. Kilkenny v Clare only had 39,626 two years ago.

Cork Limerick edging towards a sell out.. Can't see the Nally / Hill 16 being full but some crowd all the same for a Semi.

You're right, some that joined todays bandwagon will go on to be at away league games in Div 4 when they are older.

To be fair, the Kilkenny v Clare semi-final was played on a Saturday evening. The attendance would have been higher if it had been played on a Sunday afternoon.

Thought there would be more tickets sold for that game. Armagh brought a huge crowd to the quarters 2 years. Between 30k to 35k. Even though this is a semi I doubt they'll bring as big of crowd as they did that time.

Only part of upper Hogan available earlier along with Nally and Hill. Cork supporters alone will almost fill Hill.

Some random seated tickets available plus some Hill/Nally. Keeping any eye for some juvenile tickets bit look at the local clubs or online.
If not a sell out, will be be close.... Big payday of the GAA

Seems to be sold out. Or is it!!

Depends on when you log in. Sometimes there is nothing, sometimes just a few Hill and Nally. Occasionally really bad seats upper tiers.

Anyway, was hoping to go but neither appeals at my age so will settle for TV. I hope it is sold out as will be far better atmosphere than final as sure to be full of partisan fans and neutrals with passion for the game.

Looking like the Cork v Limerick game will be a Sell Out, or very close to it.

Really looking forward to watching both semi finals.
Croke Park will be electric on both days.

Is this the first time a semi final has sold out which had not involved the Dublin footballers?

The crowds the munster teams are gathering are huge. The product they produce is at an all time high tbf.

Replying To dingle82:  "Here are my projections for the semi's

Kilkenny v Clare, Croke Park 40,000 (Kilkenny supporter's do not travel in numbers)
Limerick v Cork, Croke Park, 70,000
Armagh v Kerry, Croke Park, 5.30pm 60,000 (Tailteen Cup will account for 10,000+ and Kerry supporter's hold off to final)
Donegal v Galway, Croke Park, 4pm 50,000"
Will probably exceed all those. We could be looking at an aggregate of up to 250,000 over two week ends which is pretty good for an amateur sport considering Mayo and Dublin aren't involved. A good journey for all teams involved, can imagine this Sunday's hurling fixture would attract up to 100,000 in a super stadium say around Thurles.
