So Rte have released their live match schedule for the league Division One , Nothing for Monaghan and Roscommon. Blatant disrespect for both counties. stoneygrey (Monaghan) - Posts: 217 - 09/01/2024 10:37:53 2519194 Link 1 |
Nothing new there, the darlings of football have 3 a piece from 6 matches. The rest get the left overs with Monaghan and the Rosses get zero.

Surely far worse is the fact that there's only two hurling matches to be shown? Pikeman96 (Wexford) - Posts: 2621 - 09/01/2024 14:57:13 2519258 Link 3 |
Are GAA GO showing any league? I remember they did a lot of the hurling last year anyway? TobeaRossie (Roscommon) - Posts: 158 - 09/01/2024 15:31:41 2519275 Link 0 |
Perhaps they were thinking of the audience? I make a joke. Seriously though, this probably means that Clubber will be getting some of the plum matches. Dublin v Kerry probably. They haven't gone away you know! Still, I imagine there will be lots of matches and fact that RTÉ is showing any is itself a big change from not so longa go. I assume TG4 will have some as well. We can't complain too much. BarneyGrant (Dublin) - Posts: 3118 - 09/01/2024 16:57:04 2519296 Link 1 |
Best bet is go to them. Although it's always nice to be able watch them back when you get home. Viking66 (Wexford) - Posts: 13861 - 09/01/2024 18:12:09 2519312 Link 1 |
I'll be at all or most of Dublin home games, but travelling abroad is reserved for Summer these days.

Just bought the clubber annual package. Kk up 2-12 to 0-05 at halftime. Carlow shooting early on was terrible.

That won't be one of the shocks of 2024 so! Interesting team. We be seeing a lot of new Cats this year I reckon. Might give the rest of us a bit of a chance on Leinster. BarneyGrant (Dublin) - Posts: 3118 - 09/01/2024 20:55:37 2519333 Link 0 |
TG4 will pick up 2 games every sunday and normally a 3rd covered as deferred, between this and RTE every dublin and kerry game will be shown live. Yourjoking (USA) - Posts: 725 - 09/01/2024 21:47:35 2519344 Link 0 |
RTE only has rights to Saturday evening games mostly. Not sure how the lights in Clones or Hyde would cope with that but would imagine both counties will feature on TG4 in daylight games on Sundays, as in previous years. Roger (Meath) - Posts: 478 - 09/01/2024 21:58:47 2519346 Link 1 |
Didn't know Monaghan and Roscommon played all their games at home.

Searching for "league" in the Catch Up section of GAA GO (https://www.gaago.ie/matches/catchup) shows that they had eight League matches last year - six football, two hurling. All eight featured Northern teams (e.g. the two hurling matches were home games for Antrim), and all the matches were actually being broadcast by BBC NI. Whatever anyone thinks about GAA GO in general, remember it was primarily set up to cover the sort of matches that were previously shown by Sky Sports, and Sky didn't have League matches. Somebody else mentioned Clubber, but I'm fairly sure they won't have League matches at all. If nothing else, would expect that if they did, they'd be announcing them already, along with all the other matches they're announcing as they continue to promote their annual pass. Anyone know any pub in Lanzarote showing Dublin Monaghan on Saturday? sligo joe (Dublin) - Posts: 793 - 24/01/2024 08:50:33 2521829 Link 0 |
Have been to Lanzarote a few times over the past five years or so, and know that Dicey Reilly's in Puerto del Carmen generally shows every GAA match it can. Unlike several other "Irish" bars, who'll generally show Premier League soccer rather than football or hurling. It's an upstairs place, near the main shopping centre there. Run by a Wexford man who's a bit of a character, and absolutely nothing upmarket about it (!), but you should see the match all right. We've also stayed in Costa Teguise, and found Mulligans pub to be the best bet there. Don't know about any of the other resorts.
