Replying To journeyman:  "Nicky is a huge loss but would be in with a chance of being back for the latter stages of the championship. Twisting and turning is the biggest problem getting back from an ACL tear which is alot less of keeper than an outfield player. Still JK will prob need to plan without him and if he is back it's a bonus. Jason Gillane will be fore runner with David McCarthy next I'd imagine. Can't see Dowling being tempted back."
Gillane and McCarthy better keepers than Dowling anyway?

Best of luck to Nicky Quaid in the recovery process. HUGE loss. Let's see if his deputies are up to it!

Dowling wouldn't be inter county goalkeeper standard, decent club goalie got NAP's.

Jason Gillane will more than likely get the nod.

It's huge boots to fill, Quaid was a huge part of them winning all the all Irelands.

Big time. Probably their most important player tbh

Yes I think he is, and he will be a massive loss, so many of the squad have now suffered serious injuries. His ability to control a game, set the tempo, knowing where to put the ball and having the ability to carry it out is not something that can be easily coached to someone who does not have experience of the white hot championship atmosphere. Also I would say he is one of the leaders of the team. JK might keep him involved on the backroom. He always seems so calm and assured.
The only upside is that Limerick have plenty of time to work with his chosen replacement(s) and who knows if things go well for him maybe there is a slim chance we could still see him in 2025. Best of luck to him on his recovery.

Yes hope Nicky has a speedy recovery. The best goalie in the game currently.
He crosses the border into our parish regularly to get lunch in a restaurant here and always has the time to speak with people and take selfies with the youngsters.
Fine ambassador for Limerick and hurling and wish him well in his recovery.

Would Conor Hanley Clarke be an option from Kilmallock? He played in goals for UL last year and looked solid. I can remember him playing in goals for the U20s in an All Ireland a few years back against Kilkenny in Thurles (the famous point that was given that shouldnt have been).

He has a serious pair of hands and is an unbeleavable reader of the game but physically he would not be up to playing out the field at senior intercounty level.

I would agree with the above post tho, Gillane is in poll position to take over from Nicky while out injured.

Wishing Nicky a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing him back in action soon.
