Replying To Oldtourman:  "No' No' LRH for the following reasons, there will 'be no moaning at the Bar if we put out to Sea'.
(1) in 2018 and last years we lost to Clare in the RR and who ended up with the McCarthy Cup in those years.
(2) we will be still in the Championship if we lose on Sunday week, with three games still to play.
(3) even if we do go out of the Championship this year, we will be content in the knowledge that this team owes us absolutely nothing.
(4) If Limerick lose out and Clare win the All Ireland, and with the fine team they have now they have every chance to do so, I am sure most Limerick People would be the first to congratulate them.,
There are other reasons why we would not be unduly upset if we lose in Ennis, but we will leave at that for now."
It's was only a joke

Not expressing a view, just correcting the facts. Nothing funny about distortion. Good luck.

Any truth to the rumour GG pitch won't be ready for the Tipp game and Killarney and Cork being looked at as alternatives?

On local radio this morning, they said it was expected to be ready for the tipp match..they did mention that the grass on Mackey stand side was still a problem..it seems a pity that the pitch now is a talking point rather than the championship..let's hope a week or 10 days without rain might improve things..thurles didn't look great either for league final.

Sunday is nearly here, looking forward to this game big time. It seems like Kiely has us going in as underdogs which is some job out of him- winning 5 titles in 6 years doesn't seem to carry much weight with some pundits, obviously a league title trumps all those AI. Any news on injury front from both camps, is Hayes OK and what about TK. Clare minus TK is a huge one which is not really being mentioned, Limerick have always controlled the other Clare forwards but he has brought Clare up to Limericks level on his own at times, Limerick would have beaten Clare by 5 or 6 points in the last 4 meetings only for him.

TK won't be playing from all sources. Kyle is fine. DoD and Peter casey out. Adam English a doubt. Limerick have been nursing other knocks but look to be getting the right side of most. Clare have big calls whether to start David mcinerney or not. Will they trust darragh lohan and conor leen? Big calls for Clare. Limerick will have a few selection headaches. Will sean finn start on the bench if Dan is 100%. I think he might. Who will replace DoD. David Reidy maybe? Will Kyle play 7 9 11 or 15? Where will lynch start? Knowing kiely and kinnerk thete will definitely be one rabbit pulled.

Can't wait for Friday at 9pm when near to all will be revealed.

Im very nervous of this one Sunday.I feel Clare have been looking at this from a long way out..I think tk missing has actually helped Clare because a lot more of their panel have really stood up during the league games..o Donnell looked very fresh in league final and the only thing they have to decide is where he starts..they are going to have a very strong half back line and full back line have been excellent..on the limerick side I'm hoping hayes is fit and fitness worries over English are a worry as I think he could be a starter..we know Casey and Donovan are out..I don't expect Finn to be starting..decisions then as to where kiely positions o neill, hayes and lynch..I wouldn't mind seeing lynch named at corner forward and just let him off and see what Clare would do with him..reidy starts at midfield for me..I'm expecting a cracker which could go either way and hoping limerick are on the right side of a victory..

You have summed up pretty well for me Daveboy. Not sure if it was on this thread I commented but I have full faith in whatever 20 see action and complete confidence in our sideline pilots. Nothing more could be demanded from them ... ...we can play with ease of mind in knowing we are playing with "house money". Pressure has to be on Clare as the form team playing at home. That said I know our boys will show up and won't be found wanting.

I would think something along these lines will be named.

Nicky
M Casey D Morrissey B Nash
D Brynes D Hannon K Hayes
WOD D Reidy
G Hegarty C Lynch T Morrissey
A Gillane S Flanagan C O'Neill

CO'Neill may play half back with K Hayes in the roving role with Gillane and Flanagan inside.

Anthony Daly said we wouldn't get out of Munster and Colm Calvin thinks our backs don't have the pace anymore.

Surely Finn starts for Limerick, he has an extra month's training behind him since KK game and he'll be back corner back not full. Cathal O'Neill has to start but in the middle 8 somewhere.

A fit and ready Finn is 1 of the 1st names on the teamsheet but he looked off the pace vs Kilkenny, depends how much he's come on in the 4 weeks.

When you come back from that injury you have to work your way through games and training and he will have a stronger team around him on Sunday. Limerick have options in the full back line though Fergal O'Connor was very good throughout the league and played most of the games.

The present incumbent of the right full back position is the vastly experienced Mike Casey, I expect John Kiely to select
Mike Casey, Dan Morrissey and Barry Nash in such an important game on Sunday. It will not be a game for a player to be working through games in order to improve, the best fifteen will need to be selected. Also that was the full back line that won four in a row last year,
