Lots of changes here. Faulkner is out, McVeety takes his 5 jersey. McLoughlin also put for Kiernan. Ryan Donohoe for Gerry Smith. Good to see McVeety back, but 3 big losses

Seems this manager can indeed send in dummy teams on the Thursday

Let's hope that's the only similarities there is between them…..,

This is as bad a 1st half I've seen us play, and that's saying something this year. Defence all over the place and so open.

Criminal to be playing so open with all the absentees.
A hammering will not help the young lads brought in.

You can't fix this.

No disrespect to most of the warriors playing with cavan this evening who have given trojan service to their county over the past decade but we are a mid division 2 team and very hard to see us going any higher given the age profile of the team and dearth of talent coming through. As far as championship goes it will be great to see them getting a run out in sam but we really need our under age teams to start performing.

Very disappointing performance. We looked very naive going forward. At times, our defence looked a bit shambolic. Hopefully, more a poor performance than a sign of things to come.

Agree 100% with this, this evening was a bitter pill to swallow but there was a difference in quality that a blind man could see. We are a mid div 2 side surely, but at least it is division 2 and not 3 or 4. Lads like Holla, gunner, Jason, Faulkner, Killian Clarke, Gerry Smith hopefully have more to give but you'd have to say they owe us nothing if they decided to go next year or year after. And before them Marty Reilly & Gearoid are hard to replace. We must build from underage to move on and up.

Imagine getting 7 beatings like that… it would be great…. It's all about perspective and knowing where and what level we are at… Armagh are no great shakes but they totally destroyed us yet some think we should be playing in division 1… bonkers stuff

Last night was a real wake up call to where we are really at… Armagh took us apart as they did in last year's championship yet they are a bit below the top level teams… As I have stated here several times we simply don't have forwards good enough to trouble any team at this level… yet again no goal scored.. that's 5/6 games played in the league so far… that's simply not good enough and 11/12 points over 70/75 minutes is a pathetic return….. Thank God we got points early on the board and our league position is safe but those on here thinking we could get promoted to Division 1 are living in cloud cuckoo land.. the difference in standard between Division 1 and 2 is massive and we are much better off in Division 2….and mark my words staying in it next season will be a big enough challenge without foolish talk from some on here about getting promoted…!

Yeah mid table Division 2 at best currently. But at least they are not in another relegation battle. First time in 9 years Cavan will be playing in the same division.

A few of the games Cavan won could have went either way against Cork and Louth. Louth got 3 goals and should have had at least 1 more . Meath cup open Cavan a few times but I Rourke made good saves.

Good performance against Donegal but Donegal always seemed comfortable. Cavan didn't create any goal chances

That was a dark week for Cavan football in general. After Meath I had a feeling a good team were going to do some serious damage to us.
We seem to be gradually regressing with each week that has gone past so you would wonder what's happening on the training pitch. Some of the stuff last night was beyond belief and the lack of any form of defensive or attacking plan.
Still lots of football to be played this year but i can't see how we are going to turn this around now.

I counted 19 men on the sideline including management and back room team…too many cooks

Have to get the mileage up any way possible. All that smuggled diesel needs to be shifted.

Armagh did what Meath and Cork nearly did to us in the first halves of their games.

We are very fortunate to have 7 pts. Yes, we have a few exceptional players but we are having to play lads who are hanging on. We won't get away with it against good teams as confirmed by Armagh.

Have to agree with that…. How many times did Cavan cough up the ball v Armagh when they went into any sort of contact..? This will be a big problem too when we play Monaghan… they are not much use but if we get turned over like Saturday they have the forwards to punish us…. The game v Fermanagh gives us an opportunity to try and sort things out but it's only 3 weeks until the Monaghan game…. Our scoring return is atrocious and just won't be good enough against even the most moderate opposition not talk about the top sides….

Can't take a bit craic about the size of the back room team…on another note where was Gary rogers? I seen Liam swift doing the goalie warm up? And what happened Andre Quinn ?
