Apparently Rory will play and thank heaven for that. Magpie2 (Wexford) - Posts: 404 - 16/04/2024 20:41:37 2538426 Link 0 |
Pity the game is not on Rte or Gaago. Magpie2 (Wexford) - Posts: 404 - 16/04/2024 21:47:33 2538441 Link 0 |
If Mac plays he's going to have to run to win primary possession. He's not going to out jump O Donnell, that hasn't worked in the past. Hopefully all of the best lads who finished the League campaign are fully fit along with the lads Rossi said were back.

God you're confident for a Wexford man haha I hope and think, just about, we'll win. Wexford by a single point. Fulgrim (Wexford) - Posts: 261 - 17/04/2024 07:50:24 2538487 Link 0 |

From the injury list at the start of the year, you're probably just looking at Dee O'Keeffe and Liam Ryan being on it at the minute." A little worrying..... McGuckin is definitely out. Larry O said he heard Simon Donohoe has picked up an injury but not sure on that. Hopefully no more injuries

What did you find worrying? There's no real news in that other than Rory coming back. Very much looking forward to it now. Weather is meant to be great. With only two home games this year it should be a great crowd. I wouldn't be taking anything for granted but if we perform for 70 minutes we'll win this game. Surprised the stand isn't sold out. Probably just the usual worries out of me coming into the championship. In the absence of information there's just loads of rumours flying around. Was just wondering who he meant by "a couple of new injuries". Last year Chin put out his AC joint in a training game only a couple of weeks before the Galway game. Damien Reck missed that game also.

A fit Liam Ryan is a loss for Wexford, but he has been a shell of the 2019 star since. ExiledInWex (Dublin) - Posts: 1282 - 17/04/2024 11:27:46 2538546 Link 0 |
I thought I'd see yere match at weekend on something, very surprised it's not..one hurling free to air,one on Gaa go and football galore..the Gaa are really not thinking at all..the news channel is used for matches at times, why not for wex/dub,give people the choice and they'll watch what they want. Happened to a few players under his stewardship in Clare, bodies completely broke down for good, could barely play club hurling after it. His training is insanity stuff, it may get you silverware as his teams are extremely fit but there is a burn out stage. Others may argue Wexford, Waterford and Clare have won nothing since Davy left them which is also very true. Past hurler (None) - Posts: 873 - 17/04/2024 11:59:05 2538558 Link 0 |
Our concession of frees is the only worry for me for Sunday, fairly certain in every league game we gave away more frees than the opposition, Burke is almost guaranteed to be pin point accurate from frees too… OpenStandWall (Wexford) - Posts: 208 - 17/04/2024 12:05:45 2538564 Link 0 |
For sure. That last one he got in Croke Park was out of this world. Didn't even look like he was trying.

Id agree with you we need to be a lot better in the tackle. Just got stand tickets for Sunday. Any word on how ticket sales are going? Hoping for a big Wexford crowd to back the lads. We seen the difference our support made against KK last year. I'm convinced this game will define our year

It will be completely gazumped by the 2 games in Munster which was another reason for putting it on Saturday. It might also have helped the GAA GO situation for those of us abroad. What is the issue like? The cameras will be at the match, is it so hard to plug in a cable? Even if there was no commentary or whatever, seeing it would be good for us. What is worse is that so much of that hard training and lack of a social life is so unnecessary. A huge component of fitness is rest, conditioning, relaxation and getting away from the game. There is no benefit to training to the point of refusal, even if the Clare hurlers did it in the 90's S&C data has refuted that type of training.

If I get sent a link for a playback I'll post it for you again Storeystash. The one of the Kilkenny game last year with Liam Spratts commentary was very well done.

Feeling quiet nervous now lads, a massive game for us and a big one for Dublin too. The Cork game rattled me. Granted we were missing Lee and some others but when the pressure came on, our rising stars looked to need more time to develop and do the gym work needed to compete today. Its something like 15 years since we have beaten Dublin so you could say its overdue but will this poor run continue? I would like to see us come our in tigerish form from the off, really putting down markers all over the pitch, making Wexford Park the fortress it should be picking up from the Kilkenny game last June. For Keith and the lads I really hope the efforts they've put in this past 6 months or so pays off but I'll be going more in hope than expectation. wexford2012 (Wexford) - Posts: 89 - 17/04/2024 17:44:12 2538679 Link 0 |

Think referees might be more willing to let things go in the championship compared to the league, might help us out a bit I'd rather not concede too many frees but at the same time, I'd prefer if we concede too many frees rather than not enough frees ElGranSenor (Wexford) - Posts: 398 - 17/04/2024 19:16:18 2538699 Link 0 |
