                    Tomsmith here from Cavan
We here in Cavan are lucky that moist Clubs own their own grounds but away up in Dublin it is so different. I understand that a soccer club got DCC to build a stadium for use by a soccer team. I know we are lucky away down the Country that the price of land is a lot lower but all the same to most farmers land is wealth and as such few dont like to part with land. Indeed the great Mrs T often said that a few of her Girlfriends got a man because they had land and bog. But I have often seen away up in Dublin the scarcity of grounds that Gaa Clubs have and the trouble with parking ect. I just wonder would a deputation to Dublin City Council to get them to build Club houses and playing fields like the one in Tallagh be an idea.

The Dept of Arts, Sports and Tourism paid the largest part.

And Thomas Davis planning objection got thrown out because they had got significant grants/facilities from SDCC.

Bohemians are the worst spongers. Total state dependents with sponsorship from a build to rent landord/developer. How that fits with their politics I am not certain.

Most clubs in Dublin have good to very good facilities. My alma mater have improved their facilities no end since my playing days ended. You suggesting that the men in Cavan were attracted by a woman with a few shillings, is it?

Tomsmith back live with you.. Exiled from Wexford.... Naw Naw exiled what I was sayng is that land in Cavan is also valuable and that if a flousey had a bit of land even it was bog she would be attractive to Cavan men . For that reason I was saying that Cavan land is considered valuable and I was was quoting the great Mrs T when I said some of her friends had added attraction because they wee falling into land. I know its odious but the great Mts T said it happened in the past that land was as good as money in the Bank to a single Girl, where a matchmaker was concerned. Some of his questions to asingle Girl would feature on her expectations , and then her assets .

First off there are 4 councils in greater Dublin. None have the money, resources or inclination to build GAA clubhouses. What they do is try and build sports facillites to accommodate as many sports as possible. Clubs no matter their size are not interested in Stadiums but are struggling to get basic pitches.
