Proper procedure. A lot of clubs are still carrying on with having the AGM and taking nominations from the floor. One of the biggest obstacles in the Club GAA is auld bucks refusing to step aside and let young people have a stint. They believe they own the club and while they make a plea every year for new people to come on board, it's not at their expense. They want to remain there

We've actually got the opposite problem. Two long-serving people in important positions who feel they've done their time, and in fairness, both have done great jobs and nobody can criticise them for now wanting a break from it. But nobody coming forward to replace them, and so all we can do is try twist their arms to stay on at least a little bit longer, rather than leaving positions vacant.

Will then complain that no one else wants to take on any of the jobs.
