Tomsmith here from Cavan This Post has veered into a pathway that was never intended ie posters talking about Millwall , Leeds ect . I say again " Irelands call " let the Ulster Council of the Gaa take it on board and encourage the Ulster Clubs to play it. While composed by a formed Londonderry man Phil Cou---er I feel it would be lovely to hear it being belted out in Silverbridge, Cross and in or around the Antrim Gaa grounds. If you and Mrs T start saving now you will have the diesel money saved by Xmas. Belfast at Xmas is very pretty, and there are plenty of places to listen to music and sup a pint or 4. Or you could buy one pint and bring some cans in in your pockets if you prefer. Then you could bounce your idea off some people up there, and hopefully they won't bounce you and Mrs T out of the bar and onto the pavement. I recall a South African native, who played with Munster, and Ireland?, learned the National Anthem. Ulsterman County Antrim Tomsmith here Perhaps if you look at the idea for what it is worth and if say the Clubs that are in Nothern Ireland , which is part of the United Kingdom land amss were to stretch out the hand of friendship to our non Catholics friends up there . Meanwhile can we get rid of the scratchy gramophone recordings which are an insult to the Anthem. Changing the national anthem would be pointless as most Unionists are alienated to the GAA in the same way Nationalists are opposed to the Orange Order. Too many young Scór singers singing the anthem softly is a no no. It's started now a club games in Tyrone. Should be kept for special occasions. tomsmith here Look Lads and lassies the war is over and we need to find avenues where intergration is possible. Lets face it for what it is a large section of the Nothern Ireland people who are aligned to Great Bririan do not look upon the GAA as being of their Sport . So what can we do to make it more attractive to over 260, 000 people up in Nothern IIreland. Yea, and on a cold wet day let the loyalists dance a haka as well. You'd be better off calling for an improvment in refereeing or improving the Kerry Cow or opening a factory to make glass hammers.
