At long last the Club Championship throws in this weekend with the start of the Junior Championship. It looks like a two horse race between the Plunketts and Lannleire. Here is my tips for this weekend and for the rest of the season. Ollie2 (Louth) - Posts: 911 - 10/08/2023 17:50:38 2499968 Link 0 |
Only one wrong Ollie, unlucky. Nicks with the first shock of Championship 2023. I am liking the staggered start to the championship. Junior gets all the spotlight for one week, Intermediate starts this week and Senior next week. I would like to see a return to double headers. annoyedplayer (Louth) - Posts: 30 - 15/08/2023 11:20:59 2500605 Link 0 |
Yeah four out five is not a bad return giving me a 80% winning rate. Fair play to the Nicks. I did not see that coming. Sunday was a good day for the Drawda teams with all three of them winning.

The Junior Championship continues this weekend with the second round of matches. Here is my tips to win: Ollie2 (Louth) - Posts: 911 - 17/08/2023 07:22:30 2500900 Link 0 |
The Intermediate Championship throws off this coming weekend. As usual it's the hardest grade to call with half a dozen teams that could win which include Roche, Kevs, Mattock, Kilkerley, S.O.M and Hunterstown. Here is my tips for this weekend and the rest of the year: Ollie2 (Louth) - Posts: 911 - 17/08/2023 07:34:39 2500901 Link 1 |
I should say five out of six instead of four out five which gives me a winning rate of 83% which is even better.

Junior championship becoming more open than a few weeks ago. Dunleer lucky to get over the line V McDermotts. Nothing new with Dunleer I suppose as they always choke in championship. Glyde and Barrs next week. Good chance one of these two will be gone after it. Maybe its the time of the Nicks and Tones to go deep into the championship. red.dragon (Louth) - Posts: 557 - 21/08/2023 07:13:40 2501517 Link 0 |
Barrs win next week they top the group .They have 4 points as it stands so already in the QF

If Barrs don't win they could be knocked out on score difference if Nicks win. So as it stands they have not qualified from group as you state.

The Strapper it's a long shot but the Barrs could still miss out on a quarter final spot. If the Barrs beat them by 6 points and the Nicks beat Ammaghminnon by 10 points they would lose out on score difference.

A few shocks last weekend in the Inter grade with the super Rats having a great win over last year beating finalists Kevs and Stabannon beating Roche. Here is my tips for this weekend: Ollie2 (Louth) - Posts: 911 - 23/08/2023 18:37:37 2501986 Link 0 |
The race for Joe Ward kicks off this weekend and it looks like it's between the two teams that have won the last three Championships between: The Mary's and the Jocks. Other teams that could cause upsets are the Blues, Mochs and the Pats. Here is my predictions for the rest of the year and also for this coming weekend: Ollie2 (Louth) - Posts: 911 - 23/08/2023 18:52:15 2501990 Link 0 |
I like how the different championships were staggered. With each getting its own opening weekend. My picks for the weekend: annoyedplayer (Louth) - Posts: 30 - 25/08/2023 09:40:55 2502175 Link 0 |
The Nicks will appeal against their elimination from their JFC, throwing in doubt this weekends Junior quarter finals. They were knocked out after the GAA introduced a mini league system which send Glyde through as group runners up behind the Barrs. Ollie2 (Louth) - Posts: 911 - 06/09/2023 13:05:39 2503287 Link 0 |
Any idea when there'll be an answer on this issue? Shearer (Louth) - Posts: 885 - 07/09/2023 13:21:55 2503421 Link 0 |

Fair play to the Joe's qualifying out of a group with St Pat's and Newtown Blues. Always were a championship team over the years and have some fine young footballers. DundalkGael (Louth) - Posts: 916 - 10/09/2023 16:42:03 2503660 Link 0 |
