Ah boohoo. At least 20 Counties look upon hurling as a small insignificant nuisance that they have to put up with. Seanfanbocht (Roscommon) - Posts: 1950 - 21/08/2023 17:53:18 2501675 Link 0 |
In fact come to think about it you aren't even into Football. Wasnt it 8 minutes and however many seconds Roscommon passed the ball backwards and forwards across the pitch and back to the keeper multiple times before they even had a shot at the posts? That isn't Gaelic football. I'm not sure what you would call it but it was ##### to watch for any real football fan like me!

Presumably Wexford is one of these middle tier counties in need of more money. My own county clearly not based on respective championship meetings in recent years. Claretandblue (Westmeath) - Posts: 1916 - 21/08/2023 18:27:29 2501680 Link 0 |
Yeah we should have kicked it aimlessly into a Dublin back and let them tear up the field and score a goal against us, like poor oul Laois, Louth and Sligo did against them.

Because you are all too s###e to play a proper sport. Much easier to handpass a ball around in the name of "entertainment" when it has the entertainment value of baseball.

For sure! We need investment in both hurling and football. We haven't beaten you in either in championship since the last decade.

Just getting back on topic though isn't football called football because you are supposed to kick it? Hurling is called hurling, another word for throwing?!

No you should've kicked it to a team mate for him to kick it over the bar or into the net.

We did 77 times and at the end we finally managed to create an opening in the 14 man Dublin defence and scored an excellent point.

So ye dont bother with hurling yet ye were beaten several times by hurling counties in football in recent times. All yer glorious handpassing is really paying off,

Most of those were backwards or sideways. Not the same as kicking it in to a lad who then kicks it over the bar. I agree the end result is what you were aiming for. But as a spectacle I've never seen a passage of play as boring to watch as it in any game of hurling from u6 upwards. No matter how many handpasses were in the game. Or most other games of football either tbh. In fact I don't think I've ever seen an 8 minute segment of a baseball or cricket game which had so little excitement in it.

The best passage of play was the "free" that drew the game at the end. It's on stage in the Abbey he ought to be ..

Did the Ref not award that? So obviously he saw a foul. Your comnent suggests Ros decided twas a free !! Seanfanbocht (Roscommon) - Posts: 1950 - 23/08/2023 18:49:53 2501987 Link 0 |
I was only busting your chops. The incident is totally irrelevant now, as it was then. Offaly beat Dublin in O'Byrne Cup, for relative purposes ...

Oh come on. Limerick have as many AIF titles as ye have and Tipp have twice more and we come out of a Province that has won about three times more All Irelands than ye have.
