You support Roscommon, have you not slept enough already?

I've looked at it. With a man back on the line, he should've been out quicker. He wasn't. OTB made a very good point - Shane Ryan made a save that won Kerry a match (v Derry). Cluxton didn't have to do that this year. Not his fault, but for me Ryan was the better keeper this year. cavanman47 (Cavan) - Posts: 5194 - 08/08/2023 09:31:19 2499460 Link 2 |
Looks like someone logged into the wrong account because I never asked you that did I?

Probably would have won that one in 91 if o Rourke was fit to play the whole match nearly turned it around for us that day but in fairness that was a very good Down team.Thats mad about Heffernan getting it but didnt play. How did that happen?

Dodgy goal? Eventhough it was explained by the top referees it was a legit goal. What about Smalls goal. Sure only for the "dodgy" deflection maybe Ryan might have saved it. Note I say "might" whereas you know Cluxton would have saved Geaney shot.

Yes when Ó Rourke came on that day he was superb and changed the game but twas too late On Kevin Heffernan i don't know. There was such excitement over Dubs revival maybe. Heffo was the manager. CiarraiMick (Dublin) - Posts: 3844 - 08/08/2023 11:31:28 2499485 Link 0 |
He left himself open to that. Still, Roscommon were the only team to take anything off Dublin in the championship this Summer. And in Croke Park as well.

Dick Clerkin's article today on why Clifford is obviously player of the year is very convincing. BlastCalyle (Mayo) - Posts: 214 - 08/08/2023 14:50:36 2499548 Link 5 |
If there was the injury time on the scale of today's Meath would have won that game, Down were goosed at that stage, was some effort from the Royal considering what happened earlier on in that championship.

Wow impressive you can not only manage multiple accounts, although not doing a great job of that, you can also tell us things that didn't happen would in fact have happened.

I think Fenton is the only contender with Clifford and I could make a strong case for him. He stepped up and delivered at the crucial stages of the quarter, semi and final. He got on a huge amount of ball in the final and hardly wasted a possession. Obviously he kicked two scores from midfield too. His tracking and the pressure he put on the opposition was also exceptional. He ticks a huge amount of boxes. WanPintWin (Galway) - Posts: 2187 - 08/08/2023 19:09:27 2499611 Link 0 |
Multiple accounts LOL. I've been posting on HS for over 2 decades I guess when PaddyOGall, Whiterbananas, TheMaster and Loyal2TheRoyal were in their pomp. You're what we call a WUM.

I can't understand for the life of me why the POTY seems to have to come down to either McCarthy or Clifford. This narrative started before the game and continued straight after. ConnollyDub (Dublin) - Posts: 2007 - 09/08/2023 08:57:37 2499639 Link 2 |
Why did you answer a question then I never asked you? Or are you just going to pretend that didn't happen? When you say "we" do you mean all your other accounts? oneoff (UK) - Posts: 1472 - 09/08/2023 09:20:04 2499641 Link 0 |
When I say We, I mean the well established non-WUM posters of course. Your obsession with all things Dublin continues I see.

I didn't mention Small's goal because we're talking about Cluxton here. You've come in on a conversation without reading the context. Cluxton got down three times on Geaney. His first attempt to block forced Geaney to pivot. His second attempt to block in a straightened position forced Geaney into his second "hop". His third attempt saw the ball go under his body. It was good goalkeeping to force Geaney to pivot twice and hold him up to get a defender on the line. Alas it wasn't to be.

Why did you answer a question that I never asked you? Why are you pretending it never happened? Where did I mention Dublin in that post? oneoff (UK) - Posts: 1472 - 09/08/2023 11:12:29 2499679 Link 0 |
Actually the more I think of it - Fenton is actually a very good call for POTY. He was definitely a man on a mission this year and led by example. Nominations will probably be the following 3 Fento Jamesie DC Fionn (Dublin) - Posts: 3980 - 09/08/2023 11:42:06 2499687 Link 0 |
