Replying To Curlew66:  "Tg4 did a good job on that with their GAA Gold series. They also led the way with live broadcasts of club, school and Alliance league matches when no other channels were remotely interested.
RTE have become involved in very recent years after Tg4 paved the way."
I remember watching GAA Gold on a weekly basis in the 90s, it was a great show. Really need to roll it out again.

That was great. They must have lost the rights to show old games.a lot of the games on YouTube put up during COVID were taken down as well.

TG4 should get more games. Something like the start of the season in new York could be shown. It's such a unique game late on a Sunday evening in may. Other sports would not miss the chance to show boat having a presence in new York. Even American football college season kicks off in Dublin. They actually broke all records last weekend with the live street show getting 41% over the last viewing record.

TG4 have made a bud for games. New York is one of the games along with the Connacht semi final and some group games

Just wondering have RTÉ given up completely on showing club matches on a Saturday?they definitely showed some last year..congratulations again to tg4 for keeping up the Gaa coverage.I'm hoping that they might get inter county championship coverage but won't be holding my breath on that

RTE should just give up…, they are useless

Mayo v Cavan should open The Sunday Game this evening. More of a headline than the Munster hurling championship today.

There was enough hurling today! Did Cavan have the audacity to upstage hurling but RTE are shoveling out the hurling anyway regardless?!

Best game today was in Nowlan Park. Will get 30 seconds probably.

Congrats on the win today. I doubt Kildare will get any recognition for it as the lip service continues.

I think hurling should have it's own highlights programme, boring the head off me here waiting for the football to come on.

Can people not cop onto the fact that RTE always shows the live games previously shown that day first on the Sunday game… let it be football or hurling.. Don't ask me why though

It should, but not for the reason you've given above....

They've no issue throwing the hurling in between football on a Saturday so why does Hurling get it's own on a Sunday?! Starts too late needs to be on at 8.30/9

Whatever about having its own show, what's the story with the Saturday game going from hurling to football then back to hurling and back to football again? Makes no sense for people who are only interested in one or the other…

Production scheduling is done days in advance. You can't just go rescheduling things willy nilly on the day because we suddenly have an unexpected footballing result. Think about it!

You're the type of fella who drives into a traffic jam just so you can complain about the traffic. Would it not be better to change the channel or do something else until the football section is on? Nobody is forcing you to sit through any of it.

You're the lucky one, I feel asleep waiting for the football and then missed it.

I suppose when the sections are being set, it's the advertisers that broadcasters have in mind. If you mix the schedule, you keep people engaged longer and the advertisers get their pound of flesh.

There is a Topic on here called 'WHINGE'. Created a few months ago by a football fan (of course). It's on page 2.
Anyway here's the opening comment:

"WHAT IS IT ABOUT HURLING PEOPLE/MANAGERS/X PLAYERS ,THEY ARE ALWAYS WHINGING AND COMPLAINING ABOUT SOMETING FIXTURES, VENUES, TV COVERAGE [BIG ONE], REFS, TIMES OF GAMES, WATCH WHEN CHAMPIONSHIP STARTS IT WILL BE NON STOP AND ALL FROM 4/5 COUNTIES, ITS NON STOP"
