Tomsmith here from Cavan
This question was raised recently in thge Imperial Bar, and a very diverse selection of answeed were given.
The general consensus was that If Cavan County team was to be bought that it would go to a Newyork punter.
A very strong connection exists with that City,
No 1 we went over in 1947 and won an all Ireland
N02 You have Paddyt Reillys Pub
No3 Steve Duggan ( Son of John Duggan Ballyhaise ) is a Bar tender in NY
No4 Paddy Duggan Flying Saucer strong NY man of old.
Probally many more connections.

No doubt our near neighbours Monaghan would also be looking at the New-york dollars as Philip TRayor from All Boro wooden flooring in dowtown Nw-york is a current money man for the frainey County.
Philip Traypor who died recently has strong connections with the Monaghan Gaa team

And I quote from Tom smith that "very strong connections exist with that city". Very strong connections now , these include:

No. 3: some lads son bartends in NY
No. 4: Paddy Duggan flying saucer strong man (whatever that means)!!!

Now if that's not strong connections then I don't know what is.

In relation to Countries or Large Towns adopting/purchasing your local County team no doubt that Mayo would go to North Chicago where the Mc Brides Club is backboned with men and woman from South Mayo particulary around the Neale

Maybe Sean Quinn, the ex billionaire might buy Cavan. With his loans from Anglo Irish bank. Ok, not funny.

I think Shaun's allegiance would be to Fermanagh where he played very successfully at Midfield for his local club for a long number of years .
It would be interesting to know what County team that would not get a Bid.
Perhaps that font of wisdom Killing fields after a struggle could tell us who would but his County football team.

Viking 66 fro away down in WExford

I am afeared that from a Football point of view your own County would be a t the lower end of the scale for Bidders
Indeed if youse got abid at all , certainly Gazumping would not take place.
But its odious how many fool are out there where Fitball is concerned

Charlie Gallogher the Dentist from Cootehill would be my choice or Stevie Duggan who was from Ballyhaise would be up there .
Duggan emigrated over to Newyork where he ran Paddy Reillys bar at 519 on 2nd Ave Newyork
