Our heads now turn to Club Championship, looking forward to some great battles.
It is probably the most wide open championship we have had in Galway for awhile, very hard pin point a winner before it starts.

Any dates likely for it to kick off

Moycullen chances have diminished greatly with Kelly heading back to his club badly injured. Player welfare my ****.

As it stands, I believe it kicks off the weekend of the 30th of July.

Yes, I would say it is very unlikely he will play any part for this season.

Salthill are a bet around 11/2. Good squad with Sweeney, Maher, O'Flaherty, Culhane and Finnerty from county panel and some good young players like Power and Murphy. Moycullen will find it tough without Sean and possibly Cooke if he heads back to US

Did anyone see the division 1 & 2 finals last night?
I was trying to follow on WTS and twitter as GBKFM were focused on the soccer. The Killannin v Annaghdown relegation game was called off. Bearna v Salthill was very low scoring with Bearna winning and they'll be delighted to get promoted. The Division 1 final went to penalties with Corofin winning, Tuam Stars must hate the sight of them, Kevin O'Dwyer said on the radio before the game that Tuam had been targeting the league title from way out. Did anyone note that the WTS app was off last night at one stage it had Tuam 4-03 to 0-6 up in the game. It got revised later but lead to confusion, it is unusual for them but there appears to be some issues since the app got a face-lift.

Good win for Barna but what is football coming 2 with a score of 6 - 4 cat hard believe both these teams are prob training since late feb 2-3 a week and game finished with a score line like that something needs be done regarding coaching it's all about stats and S/C do they actually train with the balls at all ,, as for relegation match Annaghdown conceded it things not good there , heard players won't play under current management, one time players played management, looked after team , now players have all the power , it's a sorry mess either way , and only 5 weeks start senior championship,,

That isn't a great development this year for Annaghdown after been in the league final last year. I thought the game might have been postponed because a few of the county lads weren't available.

Sean Kelly / US sanctions will be back early / mid august. Will miss two rounds max.

Yes kelly is in boston, I dont know if he has played yet. Moycullen will be ok without him for a few rounds as they have a very strong panel. It would be tough on a smaller club where the co player heads off to the states and then misses 2 rounds of championship, the clubs star player could end up playing 2 to 3 clubs games a year depending on results. GAA plan was that once the co season finished that the co players would go back to their clubs, cant blame the co players to go as they are living like monks for most of the year, might as well enjoy life while they can.
