Looks like very serious competition for all places on a starting 15..I'd hope in last 2 group games to see a few more get chances..there are a few hanging round panel for a few years now and I'd like to see what they are made of..does anyone know when diarmaid is due back ?if gillane comes back will he get game time straight away??ive said before the only position I feel we need a serious look at is cover for Nicky..I want to see McCarthy and power get something into them just in case..

My God, what a bunch of moaners on the Galway forum who can't seem to get past the Kyle Hayes incident. Heaven help our ears when Gillane comes back!

Goalkeeper is the one position where the drop off is large. Its no one's fault only that Nicky is the best in the business. I like Mccarthy i think he has the skillset to implement the game plan but I feel he needs to get stronger in the upper body. The power on his puck outs seem a bit low to me but I've no statistical evidence it just felt in PUC he had made the right choice but he just couldn't get the ball there fast enough. He also needs more exposure at this level as he looked nervy in Cork

Oh indeed there are a small numbers shockingly moaners and bekgrudgers. However the vast majority of Galway men are fine sportsmen and I know this from having worked and mixed with many ofl them

And not one of those boys would admit- well one decent Galway did- there was anything wrong with Monsghan's pull on Lynch, which if anything was worse as he was struck from the blindside in

I agree, but for whatever reason that forum seems to be a magnet for a few real head bangers

You'll never see that sort of whinging from Kk or Tipp fans. They know what it takes to be great and they tend to be balanced when this stuff happens. They also seem to appreciate great hurlers when they see them and recognise a great team when they watch them. For some reason there is large swades of begrudgery from second tier hurling countys as I call them which we were 1 of up until very recently to limericks new success. It was ok for Tipp or Kk to be winning AIs but when one jumps from the pack to dominate they can't process it in a positive manner. Just my thoughts on it

99% of Galway fans are top class sporting people. Saw it first hand in 2018 and especially last year. Shaking hands in the lower cusack with any limerick fan they could meet and I had a chat with a few after the semifinal. Great knowledgeable hurling people who enjoy watching great hurlers play a physical fast skillful brand of hurling which as they said was always Galwsys trademark. But as one finished Limerick just have more quality currently

I've posted on their forum that they are bitter since 2018..I'm not going to comment on their site any more..it's very easy to get into a row with people over things but I'm not doing it anymore,I will defend limerick where I feel it's necessary..counties would love to have most of our hurlers..as I've said I want fellas who have been with panel for last 3/4 years getting a run and see are they up to the rigors of inter county hurling..

Limerick are hurling's new superpower. With JP's money, Kiely's management and quality players coming through, Limerick are set fair to dominate hurling over the next few years. Limerick should win more All Irelands over the next decade than Kilkenny.Best of luck to ye. JP's father was a Roscommon man so let's hope he looks our way now and again.

I wonder if it's a bit of jealousy!? They had a fantastic team for a good 8/10 years and one all Ireland is a poor return for the quality players they had.
We stopped them doing 2 in a row and have turned into the dominant team they could have been. Pure speculation but it might explain how nuts this Limerick team make some of them.

If you think Tipp supporters don't whine, You should wander over to Premierview some time and have a look.
Everything from JP to criminal activity is used as an excuse for our current dominance.. The fact that we might just have an excellent team seems to be beyond most of them.. Its highly entertaining stuff.

I've never seen that page. I think I might avoid it. On JPs money clare, tipp, cork galway and kk have all invested more money into their GAA structures from their main sponsor in last 5 years than JP has. Huge amounts of limericks annual cost is achieved through fundraisers and other sponsors like in dublin and the US. This JP thing is so lazy and wide of the mark but if other county boards think its his financial input they will be further left behind in the bigger picture.

Some people it just hurts them so much to see what's happening to the success in Limerick. When you break the habbit of 100 years it doesn't sit well. I can get why certain Tipp supporters are upset and certain cohorts in cork and clare too. Its a rivalry on all 3 fronts. But for anyone to use those types of excuses for me means they are not proper hurling people and 100% never played the game.. They also haven't a clue what they're talking about. It all goes hand in hand really. It actually makes me laugh when I read that stuff to be honest. The poster Tiobraid on here is always balanced, insightful and progressive in his views. I know a few other Tipp lads like that too.

I think that's the essence of it, our fairly astonishing success has to be explained away some how.
The fact that JP was the sponsor for years before anything happened is ignored.. You'd swear we bought players instead of cultivating the talent that was there.
Its very lazy and No one likes to look at how we got our underage structure together after the 2009 semi final debacle v Tipp..
Speaking of Tipp, agree completely re Tiobraid.. He's very measured and fair. I enjoy his posts..

5 proper pitch sessions in 5 days. Multiple video analysis sessions and gym work and bonding. Tipp were doing warm weather camps pre championship 10-15 years ago. Waterford are abroad too. This is nothing new

I'd disagree completely multiple counties have been in the Algrave in the last decade including my own so if someone has an issue with that then their off their rocker.
