So that's 7/16 of this years senior teams changing management! royal11 (Meath) - Posts: 102 - 22/10/2024 12:19:57 2576333 Link 2 |
Hardly surprising if true, most managers have a 2-3 lifespan with a team at best, barring they are internal or are continually winning. apart from Gillespe with Summerhill, Kealey with Dunshaughlin and then Lar Wall back with Kells I'm not sure there were to many teams that have stuck with the same management more than 2 seasons in a row??? (I stand to be corrected but I'd be surprised)

In this day and age, I'd rather be a referee than a club manager. GenderNeutral (Meath) - Posts: 114 - 22/10/2024 23:11:12 2576475 Link 0 |
It's a huge commitment in time and energy to manage a club. There are massive sacrifices. Personally, I think it's tough to give any more then 3 years, and still hold the hunger.

Agreed. When money comes into the equation and some of those managers are being paid relatively well for the level - if you don't get the results they're going to move on from you.

This is the reality of it, and its understandable as well, if a club or sponsor is coughing up any sort of money then they will want results or at least progress and if there isn't then there will be a parting of ways

Shane Treanor & Padraig Durkan stepped away from Donaghamore/Ashbourne. Made massive improvements with that team! Also Kells management have moved on. Meathabuforlife (Meath) - Posts: 5 - 31/10/2024 14:19:15 2577732 Link 0 |

Managing a club team now, at any grade, is a massive commitment and is not sustainable for more than two years, especially if you know you have taken a team as far as you can or else you know players are moving abroad the following year which is now a massive factor for managers before taking a job on. One of the best available jobs in the county has apparently been filled with David Clare taking charge in Summerhill. The former Celbridge manger was a former selector and has apparently assembled a strong back room team. Meathfootball12 (Meath) - Posts: 6 - 12/11/2024 11:59:58 2579344 Link 1 |
One of the Names I have heard in this strong back room is Pat O'Halloran formerly of Ballivor ......
